yoakenashi
I apologize in advance, I have not been playing the preview branch so this suggestion may be a little misplaced. But I have been reading the forums and believe this to still be relevant. Since storing eggs in ration boxes / refrigerators no longer increases the incubation rate, and this is currently the only way to move eggs, I suggest adding eggs to the Critter Drop-Off list. I propose a Critter Drop-Off that has 3 main categories: Critters, Babies, and Eggs. This would allow you to relocate the eggs without putting them into storage and maintain natural incubation rate. Feedback is appreciated! Thanks all. Love the game. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91608-add-eggs-to-critter-drop-off/ Share on other sites
QuantumFlux
I like the idea of adding eggs to critter dropoff, but I'd rather see it sorted by creature type, so the top categories would be Hatch, Drecko, Puft, etc... and then the subselections would contain Hatchling Egg, Hatchling, Hatch, Stone Hatchling Egg, Stone Hatchling, Stone Hatch, etc. for the example of "Hatch". That way we wouldn't have to scroll through a long list of creatures 3x just to set up a critter dropoff for e.g. Dreckos, Drecklings (?) and Dreckling eggs. Michi01
With the new functions they added to the drop-off, this would also allow players to move eggs out of a stable before they hatch and make it temporarily overcrowded. If the dupes that have access to the critter stable and move the eggs to a different room would not have access to your egg cracker, this would also allow us to automatically crack eggs from overcrowded stables only. Ambaire
You can put a compactor in a new empty stable and set it to eggs, priority 9, then when the dupes deliver the eggs, uncheck it to drop the eggs out. They only lose 1% viability or so, which is negligible. Thanks, but that kind of micromanagement was what I was trying to avoid. I like that they added the slider bar to the drop-off; I think this would be another step in the right direction. 7 hours ago, Michi01 said: automatically crack eggs from overcrowded stables only You may be able to do that by just setting the priority. Meaning, set drop-offs to high priority and egg cracker to low priority: duplicants should move eggs to the drop-offs/stables first, before moving eggs to the egg cracker. This of course could be tested IF the incubators had a queue, but that's another topic 8 hours ago, QuantumFlux said: sorted by creature type I think that would be fine too. I typically want things grouped/sorted differently than most other players Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91608-add-eggs-to-critter-drop-off/#findComment-1044654 Share on other sites
