paingwin
Not sure if this has been recommended yet or not, but i think it would be nice to have sloped tiles. This would give a new building mechanism for allowing water to travel where you want it when starting out and creating "reservoirs". BlueLance
it has been suggested before, but quite a long time ago (Sometime last year) I think the reason it doesnt exist is because of the one element per tile, but someone in that thread raised a fair point that Airflow tiles and Mesh tiles Exist as a tile, and can have an element in them, So I think it should be possible to have sloped tiles, but I am not sure about how they would do it since if you watch water on airflow tiles it doesnt actually touch them but forms a weird bubble Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91030-tile-suggestion/#findComment-1037343 Share on other sites
Lilalaunekuh
If you want a "sloped" tiles you have to change a bit more of the mesh/air flow tile properties. (You want a direction of flow and maybe some different tile/tile heat transfer for a full side contact or just edge to tile ....) There is already gravity, so hopefully that wouldnt be too difficult to make the direction etc, but I would use it to make water features! QuQuasar
Everyone's talking about the fluid dynamics, but nobody's mentioned the main reason I want sloped tiles: allowing dupes to move up/down a single tile without slowing them down. My floorplans would become a lot more interesting if I could build ramps or stairs without absolutely wrecking my duplicants ability to get about. (Also, aesthetics. I abused the heck out of sloped tiles in Starbound) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91030-tile-suggestion/#findComment-1037720 Share on other sites
BlueLance
Aesthetics I agree with, but i am meh about the movement haha, my base is all squared off usually. So the quickest way to b is usually vertical or horizontal Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91030-tile-suggestion/#findComment-1037827 Share on other sites
