Kasuha
We have way too many material categories and many of them contain just one or two materials. Maybe it would be a good idea to consolidate them a bit, lowering the number of categories and increasing the number of materials in each to a reasonable number. For example: Filtration Medium and Consumable Ore, and Plastic could be merged into Industrial Ingredient. Cultivable Soil could be merged into Agriculture - or vice versa. Miscellaneous (Diamond) could be merged into Raw Minerals. Compost Edibles could be merged into Organic. Also, it would be nice to have an option to collapse the whole material list in the upper right. It's going in the way a lot when trying to do anything at the right edge of the map. I think plastic and refined metal should be a Refined Material category since plastic isn't much of an ingredient (yet) But filtration and consumable ore could be combined, possibly with industrial ingredient. But again they're not really ingredients. I agree with the rest. Smithe37
mmm, Further to this, I think they should have a category "Building material". You only ever use raw minerals to build things, same with plastic. You could probably throw ore and metal in there as well since that's all you ever use it for. Hanmac
Now Regolith is another filtration medium that can be used by the two buildings. Fenixix
I think we can not talk about that before we have finished game because we do not know how many materials will be added. I prefer many categories because it provide precision. MatthewCline
The material categories could be nested/recursive. Normal clicking on a category's expander triangle would expand both the category and all its sub-categories. You could middle-click/right-click/left-click/etc on the triangle to just open categories with the sub-categories closed.
