davelehwalder Posted April 2, 2018 Share Posted April 2, 2018 Greetings, After the new "Rancher" update. My new map does not even have an oil geyser. As well, only a single underperforming natural gas geyser that will not even power a single natural gas engine permanently. Nor does it have a water geyser. How can this be? I do have several cold steam geysers, but they barely produce at all. I have dug out the entire map basically looking for important geysers. This map seed is pointless, not sustainable. Is this part of the game now? shouldnt there be guaranteed certain geysers? or am I missing something here. mahesar Posted April 2, 2018 Share Posted April 2, 2018 You get 4 guaranteed geysers; 2 cool steam, 1 nat gas and the 4th will be either nat gas or chlorine. There will be another 6-8(iirc) buried ones that can be anything. Maps also have 0-3 oil wells. It sounds like you just got a bad seed roll. Yeah thats true, but slicksters also give you oil, and do not cost water, which can be extremely rare depending on how lucky/unlucky you are when it comes to rolling for them. Personally there is enough oil and slicksters for me to never have to worry about a shortage on it. Also Oozinator burns his oil, he knows of many uses for it haha. suicide commando Posted April 3, 2018 Share Posted April 3, 2018 I've never really used oil wells really.. a large slickster farm is all I need to get me a supply of oil for consumption in whatnot. And my slicksters feed of my NG generators, which feed of my fertiliser makers which drink from my pH2O supply. I am far more worried about lack of (p)H2O than anything else, as that is the easiest way to make O2. Eventually I might set up a very large morb farm ( 20+ morbs ) which feed pO2 into a hydrogen cooler and make liquid O2. Or just hook it up to a room with a bunch of deoderisers as I tend to have waay too much sand.
