Hatch Egg for Food

Puft farming! 4 pufts in a stable can fertilize 60 or more mushrooms with no disease.  And you get their eggs as a bonus

How can it be "with no disease" when Pufts themselves are an (undocumented) source of Slimelung?

not sure if bug or intended but puft slime always starts with 0 surface germs

I had tested this with debug recently.  I painted no disease, 0 germs over a natural pocket of P-H2O, P-O2, and a Puft.  Came back a while later, there's Slimelung again.  I relocated the Puft to a different chamber that I had also cleared of germs, same thing happened there.  So I did it 1 more time and checked every tooltip.  No Slimelung in the air, none in the existing Slime globs.  None on the Puft, and none on the P-O2 it had already consumed.  Unpaused, it ate and pooped, and suddenly there's ~130 Slimelung on the Slime glob it produced.

This was Occupation though, so I don't know if it's still a thing in Ranch Mk1.

It's not, I remember having to run my rails though chlorine during Occupation.  But after Ranch puft poo became clean,  still not sure if bug or intended, but if they produce slimelung again in Ranch Mk2 just run a conveyor rail though 2Kg chlorine room to the mushroom farm and you'll be fine

You can Always just feed them fertiliser from the fertiliser makers that are powering your NG generators.
That way, both ends of your power plant will supply food to your ranches. Slicksters eat the CO2, and the hatches eat the fertiliser.

You will need a good supply of PW to support them

I never complained about that, I've found pH2O Always to be a very valuable resource to the point that in the earlier part of the game, when I get my lavatories up and running, I don't set them up as a circular loop with a sieve or anythign like that, I just use my water to run it, and save the pH2O for later use.
