Lutzkhie Posted March 24, 2018 Share Posted March 24, 2018 i dont really see much use for duplicant checkpoint, except for limiting access but that can be done with doors and automations, so instead maybe checkpoint should have a setting that only dupes "WEARING" specific clothing can pass for example: entering ice biome, you can place a checkpoint before going in and set it to warm sweeters, also connecting the checkpoint to a smart storage containing this clothes will make the dupes wear those required clothes before entering, the same story with oil biome which is a hot area but in order for this to work, they need to make the duplicant checkpoint research tree a little bit earlier maybe before exosuit research so that if you have enough refined metals you can switch to exosuits later on for late game solutions we have been given a lot of new toys to play with and the old ones are being ignored, it wont hurt looking back, tweak some old buildings/stuff Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/89048-checkpoint-suits/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kasuha Posted March 24, 2018 Share Posted March 24, 2018 The only difference between checkpoint and automated penumatic door is that you need to build another tile on top of the pneumatic door, otherwise your duplicants will happily climb over the fence. So the checkpoint is kind of redundant. But I guess some people may like it for its looks. Zarquan Posted March 28, 2018 Share Posted March 28, 2018 I find the checkpoints useful because it allows me to stop dupes from going through without a suit without me having to decide which dupes are allowed to do the work. If they are going to do things near a volcano or a clean room with oxygen in it, then I don't want them to be out of a suit. I would like an option to say dupes should put on exosuits if they exist.
