Could prevent "Oh i forgot they are all dead" accidents. And also feeders are of little to no use for feeding hatches. Feeder stores 200kg of minerals, and uses one duplicant to supply. Compactor stores 20000kg of minerals, and takes about 33 jobs with only gofer, or less than 20 jobs with courier training. Which means that compactor is about 5x better work-wise. On the other hand, it does not automatically refill and dump itself. Another bonus for feeder is that hatches eat from groung up to 7000kcal, while from feeder only to 4000kcal. I think optimal solution would be feeder storage increase to about 1000kg and decrease feeding from ground to 4000kcal as well. I suppose it's a question of the quantity of materials the hatches should convert at one time. Large, infrequent coals or small, frequent.
