captainharlow
Why is repair part of tidy? repair should either be part of operate or build. it makes no sense under tidy. totally different skillset. goboking
I just noticed this about an hour ago and I couldn't agree more. I assumed the dupe who built my natural gas generator was one who'd repair it when it breaks, it turns out that task falls on the dupe who spends all day scrubbing toilets and sweeping floors. Candide
I would prefer it to be separate setting. I often want to disable repairs, so that dupes don't throw out metal. Sometimes I have unclean inputs. Having someone repair it because of 2mg CO2 every minute... just stop and let it settle first. Kasuha
Intuitively, repair is not tidy job. But from practical point of view, repairs are random events that can occur on almost everything. They have a lot in common with tidy tasks in that regard, as dropped items or puddles of water can also happen anywhere. So in my opinion it's better to be assigned to duplicants that are supposed to take care of random events rather than to duplicants that should be sticking to their assigned places or taking care of machines assigned to them, which is the case of architects or engineers, Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88596-repair-is-not-a-tidy-job/#findComment-1014842 Share on other sites
