jmf35
This style for geysers would be less revulsion inducing. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88461-please-no-fumarole-trypophobia/#findComment-1012749 Share on other sites
BlueLance
The fear of holes/features resembling holes? or have I for that wrong. They do look weird. CodingKitteh
It's temp art but it sure can use a less holey approach and be a more realistic fumarole Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88461-please-no-fumarole-trypophobia/#findComment-1013414 Share on other sites

Dopey
Does the nearby algae in the image also set you off? Out of curiosity. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88461-please-no-fumarole-trypophobia/#findComment-1013819 Share on other sites
Vincie
The fumarole is just plain awful at this point. Really, please, change it. It looks like something growing on skin of a drinker of technicall ethanol, this purple-coloured on (denaturate in English, I believe). BlueLance
Yeah pasta is one of the things, and beans, anything with lots of holes. Also you meant slime not algae @Dopey Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88461-please-no-fumarole-trypophobia/#findComment-1014143 Share on other sites

Personally, the slime hasn't bother me. I never even noticed the similar texture. I don't really have a solid explanation for that. Lotus root doesn't bother me either, perhaps because it has a uniform shape. I would guess irregular shapes with holes are what cause the visceral reaction like an earworm or nails-on-chalkboard.
