Soulwind
How long does it typically take for stored ice to melt? I built an obsidian storage container over a mesh tile and filled it with ice. Figured I would get some free cooling and refill my water tank with nice cold water. 10 cycles later.... no melting, no water, and the ice still shows as -30C in the compactor. Amara313
It depends on how much volume of ice. 20 tons of ice is going to take a long time to melt. 200 kg won't take very long. Try building ice sculptures out them. Pretty, and melts pretty quick.
The Plum Gate
About 25 to 30 cycles for 20 tons = 20 tiles of water. Having numerous 2000kg compactor set up or.. building ice sculptures works if you don't have an artist, this saves time. Building then in shallow water melts them almost instantly.
