do we need an end-game use for mushrooms?

Recommended Posts

Right now the best food quality we get out of mushrooms is +1.  Pincha peppers and sleet wheat are used to make pepper bread (+5), meat is used with peppers to make barbecue (+5), and bristle berries are used in conjunction with peppers to make stuffed berries (+4).  Given the amount of time and effort that goes into creating sustainable slime production, should there be a mushroom recipe that provides something for dupes with higher food expectations?

I don't think slime is designed to be treated as sustainable. It's more like mealwood+1.

Though it could be a good excuse to add some original recipe. Say, shroom+lice or shroom+algae. Food+pepper recipes aren't very creative.

We could use more recipes in general at +2/+3/+4, as there is currently only one food at each of those levels.

I'm inclined to agree.  Right now it's a bit too binary; you make X for your +Y food expectations or nothing at all.  A couple of recipes at each level would afford us options on what we grow and cook.

I like a pattern where low end ingredients can and should span multiple teirs of food.

Our current system and many prior iterations have always paired difficult to grow foods with high end recipes.

I think they should all bare the burden of resource use and environmental requisites but not be so resource demanding ( unless we choose to use farmers ).

I also think each edible ( save for nutrient bars and muck root and anything like mush bars ) should be used in at least three recipes.

This would add more recipes but also allow increasing the numbers of food items in each expectation category. While easing the resource burden on growing the food would make vatiety a necessary but advantageous element to culinary outcomes.

What we have here with mushrooms is a one of two things:  it either caters to players that involve themselves with playstyle which involve the slime biome, or the mushrooms are just ignored entirely - as dealing with slime just for the sake of low quality food is not enough of a reward without being incorporated in a higher quality food recipe.

Hi Guys, Have you tried truffle mushroom as a medicine? Many studies suggest these effects are actually beneficial for people who take magic shrooms. Psilocybin, as it turns out, can be therapeutic for anxiety, depression, cluster headaches, and even debilitating menstrual pain. And it really helps me as one of the patients having a depression i tried to take this for awhile and it really gives me a good outcome for myself for self-medication. I came across this article http://www.trufflemagic.com/tripping/bad-trip/ that sometimes we have the not so nice experiences where you have a total loss of control and sense of time, and you are in a frightening situation. In this experience, you are confronted with things you have to learn about yourself or thoughts you need to let go. Especially first time users may have negative feelings coming from insecurity Or with a high dose of truffles, you could be thinking: “do I ever get out of this trip”. A trip is meant to be a great and memorable experience.
