Starting Tips For pollution.

Recommended Posts

So I have over 300 hours played, but all before the germ update, just coming back in last few days.

Does anyone have a more beginner concept example of how to start a fresh world to handle polluted dirt and polluted water bottles until you are established well enough to handle water pumping machines?

Especially if you don't want every game session to be a mad rush for that research tree right off the bat.

p.s. if you can provide a simple screenshot blueprint that would rock.

The simplest thing is to make a compost for the polluted dirt and a bottle emptier over a secluded pool for polluted water.

I like to put mine as a kind of offshoot next to the bathroom, so they have to pass back through the bathroom and the wash basins to get back to the base.  that way they don't carry germs out with them.

Same here, that whole thing leads to shenanigans when the outhouse needs cleaning and the bottle emptier gets use... dupes come running to disinfect inevitably overwhelming the clean exit strategy  - might try disabling disinfect on that to prevent overloading wash basin vs dupe inundation - or make it a one way in and out room with an extra sink or hand sanitizer.. hmm. Still trying to sort this early game problem.

Trap a few Hatches in your bathroom and they will eat the polluted dirt and water bottles

ok, ill try this, the suggestion below is what i do, but then i had to try and deal with the polluted air way before i could air lock it or treat it.

Been trying to use the water lock strategy, but soggy feet seem to be murder on your stress now.

Which will leave you with precious fertilizer for your non-Mealwood plants and water to irrigate your future pincha peppers.
