No oxygen production

Recommended Posts

Hey so i'm new to the game, I probably played a week before the most recent update with the job board. I have been making new games left and right as I learn how to play. So after the update, my colonists are not delivering algae to the algae deoxidizer and the colony is filling with carbon dioxide. I have tried a few methods to correct this and i'm coming up short. I can't find any threads regarding this issue. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong? Just to be clear here, my games before the update didn't have this issue so something changed...? Thanks.

At first, your colony would fill with carbon dioxide even if they would deliver... the deoxidizer create oxygen but dont consume carbon dioxide, the algea terrarium convert co2 to oxygen and the carbon skimmer destroy co2... but at the beginning your main concern should be to create new oxygen with the deoxidizer. Just dig a hole under your base where the co2 get trapped (co2 is heavier than oxygen)

As far as i know we dont got any relevant changes to the early oxygen production

One reason could be that you deoxidizer have a low priority and your dupes prefer to do something else... click on the oxidizer and increase the prio.

Do you have algae left? You can check it at the top right sight under "organic", if there is a value over 0 at algae your dupes have something in reach to deliver it.

After the UO release,  I've noticed that delivering algae to the deoxydizers seems to sort lower than other deliveries at the same priority  (water to the berry plants seems to be at the bottom too).

I just knock the priority up 1 notch higher than less important deliveries and that's taken care of it.

I noticed the same thing with the berry plants being watered.

Thanks for the reply you three, yeah I stopped ALL jobs, disabled all equipment(other than deoxidizer), increased priority to 1 on the deoxidizer and the colonists just chill, and hold their breath and bend over panting when I have PLENTY of algae, I made sure of that. The machine just says "awaiting algae delivery".... I read the description on the deoxidizer and it said it will go idle if pressure is maxed out....so can the "pressure" be maxed out if the room is filled with co2? I had a lower pocket for the co2 but I could dig a bigger hole

Ok, update....I normally have been connecting my generators to batteries, then connecting the batteries to the deoxidizer....I just built a new deoxidizer and wired it right to the generator and then the colonists delivered the algae and I am now producing oxygen...I also have been connecting the wires from battery to battery and they all hold a bunch of charge... I did it this way on my first few games without problems I thought...

I would expect that the deoxidizer would show the tag "max pressure" in the info like the electrolyzer.

Quote from the wiki:

" The Algae Deoxydizer stops functioning when the tiles it is on contain more than 1800 g of gas (this is Overpressure). This means that if the gas it is on is not Oxygen, it will not be able to pump out oxygen in order to push the gas away. "

I think thats the answer.

I just want to clarify that setting something to priority 1 is not increasing the priority. 9 is the highest priority so if you have indeed been using 1 you have been shooting yourself in the foot.

Not sure if this is the solution (or even if what you said was just a typo), but to be clear: priority 1 is the LOWEST priority. I hope you used a high priority on the deoxydizer.

HAHAHA WOW. You guys are awesome. Yeah I have been using 1... ok well there has been a learning curve. 9 is where its at haha

Save priority 9 for emergencies. 7 is just fine for deoxydizer, assuming you lay down your usual building orders at default 5 (which is the easiest) and eventually add a thing or two that really need to be done first at priority 6. Then the things that are more important than even the deoxydizer - typically massage tables - can be at 8 and you still have 9 free in case there's emergency and you need all hands to dig out an entombed dupe before he suffocates.
