Delay Gate; combination of Buffer Gate and Filter Gate

Recommended Posts

Far too many times I find myself wanting a delay of both on and off changes through a wire, but no way of achieving that without using up sometimes desperately needed space and highly desired resources in ways I frankly consider unnessessary: Why take up 4 spaces and 70kg when you only need 2 spaces and 35kg?

And on a side note, is there any way to flip the logic gates? In that they can be the mirror images of what they currently are and have the inputs and outputs in different places? But then again, since you haven't done that for things like the gas and liquid pumps, any of the generators, any of the Latrine "buildings", etc. I won't hold my breath for that

O Orientation, Pressing this lets you change the direction of all sorts of "Buildings"

so, if I understand you correctly, I can make, as I said, "mirror images" of any logic gate (for example, having an XOR gate with the inputs on the bottom and the output on the upper left side) just by pressing the "O" key, and that it won't just rotate it 90 degrees, and you're also suggesting that none of the buildings I mentioned have fixed input and output locations, meaning that I can have the Gas/Liquid Pump's electrical "socket" on the right side of it and have its output on the left side, just by pressing "O"... Because if that's NOT the case, then either your comment is a misunderstanding of what I said, a denial of reality, or that they updated the game to "fix" my complaint between the time of my posting and your reply

I misunderstood, yeah those fixed input/output buildings should get updated to change now that we have objects with mobile inputs(logic gates) I would love to see a mirror  option as-well for all sorts of contraptions.  As for your delay gate, its likely to be passed on since you can achieve the effect by daisy chaining filter/buffer gates.  I get what your saying about space and this would trade space on map for space on UI

The game generally relies on you having to combine lower tier automation to get higher tier automation. There are no NOR or NAND gates in the game either as they rely on you combining AND or OR with NOT gates to get that functionality for example.

Note that automation can be placed anywhere even behind tiles, so they effective do not take up space.

I also think it's fair to assume we will not see a mirrored gate as the ability to rotate it already provide the same functionality, for the most part at least.

If you want extended functionality of logic gates, and especially logic gate bridges, you should look into downloading the mod which allows you to bridge over logic gates and connect inputs (or outputs) directly.
