seanparko
Hi everyone, I've just started a new game and managed to come across some slime with slime lung in the normal biome. I have no clue how to deal with slime lung, as it is surviving in oxygen. Any clue on how to deal with the slime and slime lung without some crazy method ( e.g Make a massive chlorine airlock)? P.S I hate slime lung.

P.S I hate slime lung. A really easy early game option to handle slimelung in those inconvenient tiles is to dig a little shallow pool, and drop some ice there (a small amount, not 20,000kg!). Let the ice melt and cold water will cool the area down enough to handle slimelung in the immediate tiles. Once it has cleared an area surrounding the water - expand your "pool" and chill some more. It's not the fastest method by any means, but it's super-early game and needs minimal effort. Once you find a couple of wheezeworts, build a little 2x3 room out of granite deep within an area you want to cool - then place a wheezewort inside and seal it up (make sure there's some form of gas inside!). Eventually the wheezewort will cool a huge area around it and again, kill any nearby slime lung. These are a couple of super-easy early game methods, and the two can be combined to (A vent dripping over your wheeze room and trickle water down the sides) and expanded upon as you dig out more. Guest
When accessing an area with slimelung, I usually build 2-3 deodorizers to convert polluted oxygen into normal oxygen. This will kill off the germs in the air very quickly. Just make sure to seal off polluted water patches, else polluted oxygen will constantly be produced. For me the biggest issue is germs on resources. Slime especially is annoying since it constantly produced pollluted oxygen which allows spread of the germs. I usually store slime in specific containers placed in airsealed rooms. Other materials which are contaminated I just store in normal containers next to, you guess it, deodorizers. The germs do die off. Helpful is getting into a caustic biome and build containers in a chlorine filled area.

If you already have accessed the ice biome, then you could just as easily build a small polluted water tank and put a compactor in there. I use this as permanent solution. No off gas and slime lung is killed in a few cycles.

I was referring to clearing areas of slime lung BEFORE mining it out - that way your dupes are never exposed at all. Generally the easiest option early game to avoid any dramas whilst you're working on other areas of your base.
GuyPerfect
I just put some Storage Compactors behind a couple of Sinks/Wash Basins and instruct my Duplicants to place any contaminated resources in there. They'll wash their hands on the way out. Eventually, everything in the containers will be free of germs, even without a Chlorine environment. Just stick a Deodorizer in there if you'll be storing Slime and it's all hunky-dory.
Vim Razz
In the very early game, you can just store slime in a small pool of water to prevent it from off-gassing germs and polluted oxygen. Later on, you can kill the germs with cold or chlorine -- whatever's convenient.
GrindThisGame
I typically avoid it until I can turn it into algae with the distiller. Then I dig it out in small chunks to make sure germs don't get too high in any duplicants. Cooling certainly works but I've never done that and rarely get sick dupes. Just don't dig a huge amount in a short amount of time.
