Startup Game zooming in issue

Hey guys, 

I'm unsure if this has occurred before but i wanted to get your opinion on a potential fix to this problem i'm having. 

I bought the game today and played a good few hours. However, now as it stands every time i load the game i get the initial Klei message in a black screen all zoomed in and can not seem to progress any further as no buttons are present. 

i have uploaded a pic to help make sense of what it is i'm trying to explain. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix?

i have restarted my laptop as well as reinstalled the game and nothing has worked.

upload the game logs,

windows logs are at SteamApps\common\OxygenNotIncluded\OxygenNotIncluded_Data\output_log.txt

mac logs are at ~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

linux logs are at ~/.config/unity3d/Klei/Oxygen Not Included/Player.log

I had a look for it and this is what I've found,

That log looks normal to me.

Maybe you have UI scale somehow set to max 200. Try to check file in Documents:

\Documents\Klei\OxygenNotIncluded\kplayerprefs.yaml

 

Inside might be something like

UIScalePref: 200

If it is there delete that line to get default UI scale.

Sadly all i have is a list of strings, Ints and floats in that file, nothing relating to UIScale. is there another way for me to access it ?

Under floats do you not have a UIScalePref?

floats:
  Volume_SFX: 1
  Volume_Music: 1
  Volume_Ambience: 1
  Volume_Master: 1
  Volume_UI: 1
  UIScalePref: 100

Hmm... if it is not there it should be Ok and used as 100 by default.

Maybe try pressing alt+Enter on that screen. It would change game from Fullscreen to windowed mode and then maybe some resize might help.

Or rename/delete whole file kplayerprefs.yaml so it is recreated on start.

Perhaps you've set your OS to use some non-standard font size?

No game uses the OS DPI setting.

Just tried the Alt + Enter and it fixed it after resizing!!
