Strategy Guide - EVERYTHNIG YOU NEED

Hello dearest Survivors,

I was able to gather a lot of information during my play time of the forge, as well as I got all my achievements etc.
So now to all of you that still dont have the stuff/wins you need here is a big strategy guide I will do for this event about Items and Characters.
First of all, there are usually these Roles that you play as in the forge as a team
1 Healer, 1 Mage, 2 Tanks, 1 DPS, 1 Runner

Lets Begin, shall we pal?

Firstof all I see this very often and Im getting tilted because of that
DARTS ARE ALSO PHYSICAL DAMAGE
here, have a list of what counts as each
---------
Physical: Molten Darts, Darts, Pith Pike, Spiral Spear, Forging Hammer, Riled Lucy
Magical: Infernal Staff, Living Staff
---------

Healer
---------

Gear: Silken Wood Armor + Crystal Tiara, Woven Garland
Weapon: Living Staff

---------

Healer is pretty obvious, they cast the heals on their team, preferably on the tanks due to them getting most damaged
Best case if they could swap with the 2 Hats mentioned. CDR seems  to be updated whenever you swap between the CDR Tiara and the Garland, so your priority is CDR Tiara and right when you want to cast a heal equip the Garland to boost the speed, then you can instantly swap back to the CDR Tiara, repeat.

Mage
---------

Gear: Silken Wood Armor + Clairvoyant Crown
Weapon: Infernal Staff, Tome of Beckoning, Petrifying Tome
---------

Mage is the one that uses magical items, preferably stuns 1 group of enemies with their petrification whenever they can, main with the infernal staff to output max damage and use the Lava Golem from time to time
Why did I skip the CDR Tiara? Well the Healer kinda needs it all the time and the Clairvoyant drops quite quickly.

DPS
----------
Gear
: Jagged Wood Armor + Barbed Helm, Nox Helm
Weapon: Darts, Molten Darts
----------

DPS short for Damage Per Second is the main damage dealer in the group, they should always deal the most they can in the shortest amount of time, no pressure tho
Why is the Resplendent Nox Helm not here? Well the amount of Phys. Dmg you get from the Normal Nox one is the same so there is no need for that for you.

Tank
----------
Gear: (Wood Armor ->) Stone Splint Mail -> Steadfast Stone Armor + Flower Headband, Blossomed Wreath / Resplendent Nox Helm
Weapon: Forging Hammer, Pith Pike, Spiral Spear, Riled Lucy

----------

Tank aka the person who takes all the hits in should always defend their squishier teammates.
Why take the Resplendent Nox Helm instead of the normal Nox Helm? Well it counters your Steadfast Stone Armor's Movement Speed Debuff so it would benefit you more than the DPS!

Runner, Bait, Kiter, Lure
---------
Gear
: Feathered Reed Tunic -> Wood Armor -> Stone Splint + Feathered Wreath
Weapon: Darts / Riled Lucy

---------

Runner, Kiter, Bait, Lure regardless what you call it, this is the person that runs around with the Boarilla and the Boarrior. You dont need 30% Movement Speed, since the Feathered Wreath can outrun the Boarilla already (which is the fastest mob of them all) but if you want more breathing space you can use the Feathered Reed Tunic. You also don't want to use molten darts because they deal more damage which can make the Boarilla jump early, to keep up Boarillas Aggro whenever he hits you hit him with your Darts twice/Lucy once after every punch, this way as long as noone punches the Boarilla with any special his aggro will be pernamently on you. Tip, if he hides this also decreases his aggro if you wont attack so just attack at all times when he hides.

Sunder Armor
--------
Type: Debuff
Effect: Increases Damage Dealt by +1 (Stacks up to 2 times)
Caused by:
Forging Hammer, Riled Lucy
--------

Wilson
----------
Roles: DPS, Kite
Benefits: Fast Team Revive

----------

Wilson being this time a bit less a vanilla character, he now is the best  reviver in  the team. He can resurrect his allies twice as fast as any other character (this stacks with Wes' Passive) and recovers trice more health through the revive. Wilson should be the only one who revives his allies.

Willow
----------

Roles: DPS, Kite, Possible Mage
Benefits: More Fire Dart and Infernal Staff Damage, Strong Tanky-ness

----------

Willow not being in the F tier this time, her Perks being more Damage by Fire Darts and Infernal Staff make her an excellent DPS/Possible Mage (there are better choices here) and her Teddy Bear Bernie having 1000 Hit Points and Taking Willow's Aggro when nearby during a hit on willow makes her quite a good choice.

Wolfgang
----------

Roles: Tank
Benefits: Low HP grants buffs

----------

Wolfgang coming strong with 200 Hit Points and a Passive that makes him get less Damage, more Movement and Damage is quite a great Tank, his Mightyness Mode also can signalize the Healer to cast a heal. Excellent Tank. He Starts with the Forging Hammer that also applies the Sunder Armor Debuff.

Wendy
----------
Roles: DPS, Kite
Benefits: Abigail the Tank

----------

Wendy being the Fan Favourite for some reasons isn't coming too strong into the Events, only having Abi to distract and tank a few hits, and dealing a 3 dmg Area of Effect Damage, not too highly prefered in any team, she can still be a good Kiter.

WX-78
----------
Roles: Tank
Benefits: Thorns

----------

WX-78 coming as a strong tank has the ability to electrocute his enemies randomly (about 33%) can be an excellent Tortank Spin Attack Canceler. Also his electrocution being a quick Crowd Control is quite a great G. Forge Boarrior canceler, althought having 50 Less Hit Points than Wolfgang making him fall back quite a bit. Also the Forging Hammer's Ultimate Ability, Anvil Strike, gains increased damage from WX's passive. The Hammer applies the Sunder Armor Debuff aswell.

Wickerbottom
----------

Roles: Mage, Healer
Benefits: Petrification, Amplified Damge/Healing

----------

Wicker coming as a strong healer/mage can deal a lot of damage with Ultimate Abilities, Her Aplifier that she gets after dealing a sufficient amount of damage will boost any of your next Ultimate Ability by a lot. The Amplified Meteor can 1-shot Pit Pigs which is useful during the G. Forge Boarrior Round, as well as her Healing will get stronger through the amplifier, not to forget she can read Books and brings a Petrification Tome with her for maximum Crowd Control

Woodie
---------

Roles: Kite -> Tank, Tank
Benefits: Lucy the aggro enducing Axe

---------

Woodie being the easiest Kiter of them all since Lucy instantly changes aggro onto you, can also be used for amazing Crowd Control. Although he can be an amazing tank aswell due to him having 200HP and forcing any Enemy onto him instead out squishier Team Mates. Not to Forget Lucy having no cooldown (just the pickup refresh cooldown) and applying the Armor Sunder Debuff is an amazing thing to have. He is also capable of swapping, being a Kite for the first rounds and changing to a Tank with example Wigfrid can be a great tactic to use.

Wes
---------
Roles: Kite, DPS
Benefits: Faster Revive, a lovely Punchable Face and is still Silent

---------

Wes coming quite better than usually into the Events, he can be revived 25% faster than anyone (Stacks with Wilson's Passive) and has trouble taking off a mobs aggro, because who doesn't want to punch a mime into their face?, can be quite a nice Kite. Besides that he can trap other mobs in invisible boxes, Wes OP.

Waxwell
---------
Roles: Mage, Tank
Benefits: Hyper Single Target Damage

---------

Maxwell being the highest Single Target DPS mage there can be, after about 12 shots he spawns 6 Shadow Duelists that swipe the attacked Target once for 30 Damage (6 * 30 = 180) makes his DPS insanely high, sadly having only 75 HP he can be an easy death if not careful enough. Max is the best Tank too, lets be honest about this.

Wathgrith
---------

Roles: Tank -> DPS, DPS, Tank, Kite
Benefits: Forces the Spiral Spear Drop, Randomly Buffs everyone for 1 Attack, Special Attack, Huge Hybrid, Less Punchable

---------

Wigfrid being a big hybrid in the Events can be pretty much everything, she can be an OK Tank and later turn to DPS through Gear Swap with woodie, she also excells quite ok as a Kite. Wig's Random Buffs also trigger a Special Attack on the Spiral Spear dealing a lot of Damage (Should be around 200+) through her Battle Cries, which also buff your damage.

Webber
--------

Roles: Kite, DPS
Benefits: Mini Spiders

--------

Webber being a bit worse than usually, he comes into the Events with his 3 Baby Spiders which each deal 9 Damage (Armor Sunder also applies to Spiders) make him quite an excellent DPS due to his Darts and Spider can cause him to deal 50 Damage per shot. He can also perform as a Kiter if necessary.

Winona
---------
Roles: Kite, DPS, Healer, Tank
Benefits: Quicker Casting, Huge Hybrid

---------

Winona being the fan hate for some reason (please fix her portrait, it makes her look awfully old) comes in as a strong Hybrid that performs best at Healer thought, starts of with a pernament 10% Cooldown Reduction from start can be extremly helpful on Deathless runs where she can perform best with Healing.

Quick Tips before this ends:

  • Always let Big Fuzzy Butt (G. Forge Boarrior) Sleep in the Healing Circle
  • Focus on one Enemy instead of 2218094714024312 different ones
  • Fight Big Fuzzy Butt in the Center until Pit Pigs come, let them sleep and bombard them all with a Cataclysm from the Infernal Staff, if any Defense Banners are present destroy them first then the Flags
  • Crocommanders force their 3 or 2 Pit Pigs on their Target
  • Enemy Prioritization Order:
Banner, Pit Pig, Crocommander, Scorpeon, Tortank (Snortoise), Boarilla, G. Forge Boarrior
  • Pit Pigs over Crocommanders because they cause more damage than Crocommander since they come in groups and Crocommander is slow at his attacks

Thanks For Listening! Hope you can get your Forge Wins now

Yours Sincerely,
Dragonfly The Giant

Fin

This more or less covers all the basics. Doesn't get into advanced strategies like animation cancelling, but then again there's no need to do that on an all-purpose guide.

This is a good guide. I like it.

That said, there's a couple technicalities I want to pick at:

  • The Tome of Beckoning (or at least its special) does not do magical damage as it is not boosted by the clairvoyant crown
  • Both healer and mage can utilize tomes; often healers do it better because you don't give up fire staff DPS during cast time.
  • The Sunder Armor debuff seems to be percentage based rather than a flat +2 (Living staff goes from 10 > 11, tome of beckoning goes from 25 > 28)
  • Sky Lunge does not Sunder Armor

Hey wait a minute, I think I've seen some of this from somewhere

Fixed Point 1 and 3, Point 2 needs more investigation

Great guide for begginers, also please dont tank with wigfrid on BOSS, she cant aggro it, if there are 2 melee at the boss, it will attack the other melee rather than wigfrid, so tip for wigfrid users (DONT PICK UP 95% ARMOR), also take advantage of her not getting aggro by hitting enemies from behind so you dont get hits at boarilla for example and be more efficient damage wise.

IMO wicker is better at heals as she can use both books and heal staff, instead of just attacking while heal its on cooldown you can use petrify to CC monsters or to even break guard on snortoises and boarilla if your team just spam rigth click everytime.

Did some testing. Sunder Armor is fully applied over 5 hits in increments of 2% each stacking to a total of +10% damage. Full details are in this thread:

Also there's a typo in the title :p
