  2. The Forge has ended and thus the quest to get faster and faster times has come to an end. A lot of people have asked us for videos of our runs and we were very reluctant to give them out because we wanted to be competitive and wanted others to try and beat us with their own methods. We didn't want others to just copy what we did over and over just to beat our time by 1 second. If a team beat us we wanted them to beat us by their own hard work and perseverance and not by piggybacking off all the time that went in to making these strategies. With that said we'd like to congratulate all the teams that got sub 12. That is not an easy feat. Also, for those that were able to make it on to the leaderboard, we would love to see your runs to compare how other groups evolved their strategies. Listed below are videos of each of our fastest runs that we have recorded for 6, 5, 3, and 2 man. Unfortunately, the fastest run for 5 man was not recorded so we are posting our fastest that was recorded which was only 7 seconds slower than the time on the leaderboards. Also, we did not record the 4 man run we did and did not realize this until after the event was over so it was too late to go do a quick run. 6 Man 5 Man 3 Man 2 Man SPECIAL About Our Group: Special Thanks: @JoeWThank you Klei for creating and hosting a great event that we hope to see again soon and many times more! Also, thanks for extending the length of the event, it gave our group a chance to reach our ultimate goal of sub 10 since we got zero runs in for a week during the Thanksgiving weekend. But be careful next time, I think you almost killed Bill Thank you to the Strictly Unprofessional (SU) community for being a good place to find groups to play forge. Thank you to everyone part of this speed running group. I had already enjoyed Forge a lot, but you guys made me become addicted to playing it and coming up with new strategies every night. @TShawKiller@eXiGe@Billiscool@faraday@KiLimePie We'd also like to thank @Trol, @TokyoBanana, @ke126 who were unable to find time to speedrun with us everyday, but still got on when they could. And also @Beablah for joining us when we needed a 6th and understanding when we already had a full party. Lastly, Wicker is the superior healer.
  3. Oi peeps i just spent all my spools on skins and im happy to say i got pretty much everything i wanted! (spent a fortune on item skins *_*) but i started to think when the new event arrives what will happen to our lvls? if they stay the same getting new event chests for higher level people is going to be incredibly slow/difficult (im 97 atm myself) and im not sure if this is a real problem at all but something that worried me for a second. Cuz with The Forge early lvls were fast and plentiful chests! especially for people who dont intend to play too much/dont have the time they atleast get plenty of chests from early levels. anyway i was wondering if lvls would be reset for each new event? but thatd also kinda be weird or us high lvls are just gonna have to grind to get those juicy new event chests in the future? in closing thanks a lot for this event klei it was so much fun! heres to many more to come
  4. Once the forge event ended you'd think they'll just remove all the unused stuff until the next event. However, that is not the case. I guess Klei removed most of the code for all the forge stuff because now they don't work. It's impossible to pick up the forge items (Blowdarts, healingstaff, rock armor etc) Moving on the the enemies, their code also got removed. They all do their idol animations and if you push them they start to slide like ice. It's also impossible to kill them, I've tried everything to lightning, blowing them up and tentacles. There were also objects for the arena timer, however these are impossible to spawn. I thought these were interesting and I'd make a thread about it. What are your opinions about this? Tell me below.
  5. Now that the forge has ended I still had a few questions about the lore of the Forge. And some parts could be found in the trailer for the forge, First off we know that the Ancient Fuelweaver was defeated The Fuelweaver drops a rose on death which probably has something to do with Charlie. And that the ancient gateway is unstable after the fight with the Ancient Fuelweaver. And finally, in the end, Charlie closes the portal. Wickerbottom activates the gateway and the portal opens. Anyway, Wigfrid jumps into the portal and that's when the forge event starts. We don't know how long the Forge world existed but it's clear the link between the DS world and the Forge world was created After Charlie took the throne. I also thought that Punga's dialogue might give us some hints. He goes on about on that we serve a force. A force that sees themselves as "Untouchable" and "Unknowable" So Punga thinks that we're here to attack their Realm when we really just came to the forge by curiosity. We also know that Punga is aware they're many other realms. A lot of people look over the dialogue but looking at it can give us some hints. Punga's people might've been banished to the forge realm after serving for someone or something else. What do you think about this? I'd like to hear your opinions and theories down below.
  6. So, I have most of the items in the Forge and was wondering in future events will we keep our Spools or not. If not, i'll probably spend mind on emotes and everything else I don't have.
  7. Hello dearest Survivors, I was able to gather a lot of information during my play time of the forge, as well as I got all my achievements etc. So now to all of you that still dont have the stuff/wins you need here is a big strategy guide I will do for this event about Items and Characters. First of all, there are usually these Roles that you play as in the forge as a team 1 Healer, 1 Mage, 2 Tanks, 1 DPS, 1 Runner Lets Begin, shall we pal? Firstof all I see this very often and Im getting tilted because of that DARTS ARE ALSO PHYSICAL DAMAGE here, have a list of what counts as each --------- Physical: Molten Darts, Darts, Pith Pike, Spiral Spear, Forging Hammer, Riled Lucy Magical: Infernal Staff, Living Staff --------- Healer --------- Gear: Silken Wood Armor + Crystal Tiara, Woven Garland Weapon: Living Staff --------- Healer is pretty obvious, they cast the heals on their team, preferably on the tanks due to them getting most damaged Best case if they could swap with the 2 Hats mentioned. CDR seems to be updated whenever you swap between the CDR Tiara and the Garland, so your priority is CDR Tiara and right when you want to cast a heal equip the Garland to boost the speed, then you can instantly swap back to the CDR Tiara, repeat. Mage --------- Gear: Silken Wood Armor + Clairvoyant Crown Weapon: Infernal Staff, Tome of Beckoning, Petrifying Tome --------- Mage is the one that uses magical items, preferably stuns 1 group of enemies with their petrification whenever they can, main with the infernal staff to output max damage and use the Lava Golem from time to time Why did I skip the CDR Tiara? Well the Healer kinda needs it all the time and the Clairvoyant drops quite quickly. DPS ---------- Gear: Jagged Wood Armor + Barbed Helm, Nox Helm Weapon: Darts, Molten Darts ---------- DPS short for Damage Per Second is the main damage dealer in the group, they should always deal the most they can in the shortest amount of time, no pressure tho Why is the Resplendent Nox Helm not here? Well the amount of Phys. Dmg you get from the Normal Nox one is the same so there is no need for that for you. Tank ---------- Gear: (Wood Armor ->) Stone Splint Mail -> Steadfast Stone Armor + Flower Headband, Blossomed Wreath / Resplendent Nox Helm Weapon: Forging Hammer, Pith Pike, Spiral Spear, Riled Lucy ---------- Tank aka the person who takes all the hits in should always defend their squishier teammates. Why take the Resplendent Nox Helm instead of the normal Nox Helm? Well it counters your Steadfast Stone Armor's Movement Speed Debuff so it would benefit you more than the DPS! Runner, Bait, Kiter, Lure --------- Gear: Feathered Reed Tunic -> Wood Armor -> Stone Splint + Feathered Wreath Weapon: Darts / Riled Lucy --------- Runner, Kiter, Bait, Lure regardless what you call it, this is the person that runs around with the Boarilla and the Boarrior. You dont need 30% Movement Speed, since the Feathered Wreath can outrun the Boarilla already (which is the fastest mob of them all) but if you want more breathing space you can use the Feathered Reed Tunic. You also don't want to use molten darts because they deal more damage which can make the Boarilla jump early, to keep up Boarillas Aggro whenever he hits you hit him with your Darts twice/Lucy once after every punch, this way as long as noone punches the Boarilla with any special his aggro will be pernamently on you. Tip, if he hides this also decreases his aggro if you wont attack so just attack at all times when he hides. Sunder Armor -------- Type: Debuff Effect: Increases Damage Dealt by +1 (Stacks up to 2 times) Caused by: Forging Hammer, Riled Lucy -------- Wilson ---------- Roles: DPS, Kite Benefits: Fast Team Revive ---------- Wilson being this time a bit less a vanilla character, he now is the best reviver in the team. He can resurrect his allies twice as fast as any other character (this stacks with Wes' Passive) and recovers trice more health through the revive. Wilson should be the only one who revives his allies. Willow ---------- Roles: DPS, Kite, Possible Mage Benefits: More Fire Dart and Infernal Staff Damage, Strong Tanky-ness ---------- Willow not being in the F tier this time, her Perks being more Damage by Fire Darts and Infernal Staff make her an excellent DPS/Possible Mage (there are better choices here) and her Teddy Bear Bernie having 1000 Hit Points and Taking Willow's Aggro when nearby during a hit on willow makes her quite a good choice. Wolfgang ---------- Roles: Tank Benefits: Low HP grants buffs ---------- Wolfgang coming strong with 200 Hit Points and a Passive that makes him get less Damage, more Movement and Damage is quite a great Tank, his Mightyness Mode also can signalize the Healer to cast a heal. Excellent Tank. He Starts with the Forging Hammer that also applies the Sunder Armor Debuff. Wendy ---------- Roles: DPS, Kite Benefits: Abigail the Tank ---------- Wendy being the Fan Favourite for some reasons isn't coming too strong into the Events, only having Abi to distract and tank a few hits, and dealing a 3 dmg Area of Effect Damage, not too highly prefered in any team, she can still be a good Kiter. WX-78 ---------- Roles: Tank Benefits: Thorns ---------- WX-78 coming as a strong tank has the ability to electrocute his enemies randomly (about 33%) can be an excellent Tortank Spin Attack Canceler. Also his electrocution being a quick Crowd Control is quite a great G. Forge Boarrior canceler, althought having 50 Less Hit Points than Wolfgang making him fall back quite a bit. Also the Forging Hammer's Ultimate Ability, Anvil Strike, gains increased damage from WX's passive. The Hammer applies the Sunder Armor Debuff aswell. Wickerbottom ---------- Roles: Mage, Healer Benefits: Petrification, Amplified Damge/Healing ---------- Wicker coming as a strong healer/mage can deal a lot of damage with Ultimate Abilities, Her Aplifier that she gets after dealing a sufficient amount of damage will boost any of your next Ultimate Ability by a lot. The Amplified Meteor can 1-shot Pit Pigs which is useful during the G. Forge Boarrior Round, as well as her Healing will get stronger through the amplifier, not to forget she can read Books and brings a Petrification Tome with her for maximum Crowd Control Woodie --------- Roles: Kite -> Tank, Tank Benefits: Lucy the aggro enducing Axe --------- Woodie being the easiest Kiter of them all since Lucy instantly changes aggro onto you, can also be used for amazing Crowd Control. Although he can be an amazing tank aswell due to him having 200HP and forcing any Enemy onto him instead out squishier Team Mates. Not to Forget Lucy having no cooldown (just the pickup refresh cooldown) and applying the Armor Sunder Debuff is an amazing thing to have. He is also capable of swapping, being a Kite for the first rounds and changing to a Tank with example Wigfrid can be a great tactic to use. Wes --------- Roles: Kite, DPS Benefits: Faster Revive, a lovely Punchable Face and is still Silent --------- Wes coming quite better than usually into the Events, he can be revived 25% faster than anyone (Stacks with Wilson's Passive) and has trouble taking off a mobs aggro, because who doesn't want to punch a mime into their face?, can be quite a nice Kite. Besides that he can trap other mobs in invisible boxes, Wes OP. Waxwell --------- Roles: Mage, Tank Benefits: Hyper Single Target Damage --------- Maxwell being the highest Single Target DPS mage there can be, after about 12 shots he spawns 6 Shadow Duelists that swipe the attacked Target once for 30 Damage (6 * 30 = 180) makes his DPS insanely high, sadly having only 75 HP he can be an easy death if not careful enough. Max is the best Tank too, lets be honest about this. Wathgrith --------- Roles: Tank -> DPS, DPS, Tank, Kite Benefits: Forces the Spiral Spear Drop, Randomly Buffs everyone for 1 Attack, Special Attack, Huge Hybrid, Less Punchable --------- Wigfrid being a big hybrid in the Events can be pretty much everything, she can be an OK Tank and later turn to DPS through Gear Swap with woodie, she also excells quite ok as a Kite. Wig's Random Buffs also trigger a Special Attack on the Spiral Spear dealing a lot of Damage (Should be around 200+) through her Battle Cries, which also buff your damage. Webber -------- Roles: Kite, DPS Benefits: Mini Spiders -------- Webber being a bit worse than usually, he comes into the Events with his 3 Baby Spiders which each deal 9 Damage (Armor Sunder also applies to Spiders) make him quite an excellent DPS due to his Darts and Spider can cause him to deal 50 Damage per shot. He can also perform as a Kiter if necessary. Winona --------- Roles: Kite, DPS, Healer, Tank Benefits: Quicker Casting, Huge Hybrid --------- Winona being the fan hate for some reason (please fix her portrait, it makes her look awfully old) comes in as a strong Hybrid that performs best at Healer thought, starts of with a pernament 10% Cooldown Reduction from start can be extremly helpful on Deathless runs where she can perform best with Healing. Quick Tips before this ends: Always let Big Fuzzy Butt (G. Forge Boarrior) Sleep in the Healing Circle Focus on one Enemy instead of 2218094714024312 different ones Fight Big Fuzzy Butt in the Center until Pit Pigs come, let them sleep and bombard them all with a Cataclysm from the Infernal Staff, if any Defense Banners are present destroy them first then the Flags Crocommanders force their 3 or 2 Pit Pigs on their Target Enemy Prioritization Order: Banner, Pit Pig, Crocommander, Scorpeon, Tortank (Snortoise), Boarilla, G. Forge Boarrior Pit Pigs over Crocommanders because they cause more damage than Crocommander since they come in groups and Crocommander is slow at his attacks Thanks For Listening! Hope you can get your Forge Wins now Yours Sincerely, Dragonfly The Giant Fin
  8. Hello,I wanted to suggest a possibility of turning "Loyal" Class skin items into spools. There for sure are SOME items, that we DON'T want, but we can't get rid of them, because they're unmarketable and untradable. SO,I would like to suggest adding a possibility of turning these items into spools. Each item would be worthy 2700 or 5400 spools (Klei would decide about it,if Klei even at least READS these suggestions). They're worthy that much, because you can't get SOME of them any longer. After clicking "Weave into Spools" option, there would appear window, which would look more or less like this: WARNING: This will PERNAMENTLY DESTROY this item,by turning it into 2700/5400 Spools. You won't be able to get this item back anytime soon. This process can't be undone. Are You Entirely Sure You want to do that/proceed Anyway? YES NO After clicking "Yes" button, the item is pernamently removed from Your inventory, and You are not able to get it back. In exchange for this,You get 2700/5400 spools,to craft anything you want. If we could do that, there at least would be some beneficious usage for those items,if we are not using them anyway. What do you think about that? Please, share with Your opinions here. (Or like it,for Klei to see that =D )
  9. With the Forge now available on PC; they announced that it is not coming to consoles but if there is enough interest they may bring it to consoles So lets give it a try Please vote if you would like to see the Forge on consoles.
  10. Is there any chance "The Forge" will come back once the event has finished ? or maybe even just stay available in the game so people may continue playing after the event is done, Maybe even introduce a prestige system with rewards ? (Because it does seem like a waste of resources and time just to throw it away after the event is finished) Mostly because its incredibly fun and probably a lot of people haven't actually beat the forge yet. Including me
  11. Hello. I only have one mod subscribed to; [The Forge] Picky Targeting but when I launch DST, click play, then mods, it welcomes me w/ you have no mods check out the steam workshop. I've tried to subscribe to other mods but it doesn't seem to work either. I've tried verifying the cache and reinstalling already. Any idea why? Also, it seems to only be a problem on one of my laptops at home. Do you think it's possible to subscribe from a different laptop then relog onto the problem one? Thanks in advanced!
  12. The forge for console

I know there is already a topic like this in the PS4 forum but I think it would be interesting to see what players want who actually can play the forge and say what they think about it and see some new opinions!
  13. How is it with Halloween skins? Out of the chest of Battlemaster Pugna can drop out, and normal gifts are converted into chests! Is there no way to get them?
  14. Playing The Forge beta, and we're up to the Boarilla. Four people in the server. Our Wilson goes down and while we're all trying to revive him, myself and another player do too. Webber's got some awesome gear and that little guy just keeps going. Runs a lap, then shoots some darts. Runs a lap, shoots darts. I think I watched him run around for maybe three or four minutes before he finally dropped. Meanwhile us other three players are laying on the ground, cheering him on from our deathbeds and taking guesses at how long he'll last. I almost never play with more than one or two people, and this... This is sublime. Hats off, Klei!
