bathrooms food sources and sickness

Recommended Posts

how am i suppose to have a bathroom only for the sick when all the people go to those ones instead of the normal ones.

there needs to be a way to limit who uses the bathroom if your going to add annoying rules about what has to be ridiculous close to medical bed. same problem with trying to make a snack box for them all the other people would eat that food theres no way to manage it properly. i loved this game but this update is just a mess.

also is it just me or having a food poisoning source super close to sick people a bad idea? i cant even put the bathroom behind a door near them. the sensor for medical area doesnt go through walls.

It's worth pointing out that dupes can only have 1 type of germs at a time.   The only effect of germs is to reduce your immune system, and when it's at 0, it can't go lower.   Once your immunity hits zero, if you breathe a tile of PO with slimelung, you will catch slimelung at that moment.  If you eat a piece of food contaminated with food poisoning, you will catch that.  If you do both you'll catch both.   Once they're actually sick, it doesn't really matter what germs they have on/in them.  They're already sick.  Then, when the dupe recovers, they will get a bonus that makes them immune to disease (or something along those lines) for 2 cycles.

The cot scan goes through mesh tiles (just like light).  I think it goes through screen doors as well, as I recall.

This is all iirc, I've not played for a week or so, so it's possible they tinkered something and I didn't see yet.

This was my solution - quarantine.  Patients get locked in, doctors can come and go, and everybody else gets locked out.  The only problem is, the doctors still use the toilets and eat the food = D   It's annoying, but adding permissions to ration boxes and bathrooms just seems like it would be too much.

That's the good solution, and it would have been even better if Klei had added permissions to doors that apply to sick dupes as a whole, so you don't have to micormanage the door permissions.  It was suggested multiple times in closed testing.
