TwitchRouniee
What do you guys think about doing a timer for electrical grids. You could toggle portions of the grid on/off based on cycle day/night. LeadfootSlim
No reason not to add it. I'd prefer a manual timer with an "easy" option for day/night. BlueLance
I would love this, I always have 3 people on hamster wheels during the day and at night I sometimes wish I turned on one of my Hydrogen generators, I think if you really tried you could come up with some sort of system to replicate it using other switches but it would be very complex and situational i think. Masterpintsman
Simple detector for day and night: Fill with 2t of water (500kg per tile), wire to the left from your 24/7 energy grid to get constant power for the outputs. You most likely want to place the wheel (with priority 9 so it'll be duplicant'd constantly) in an area where your idle duplicants hang out so the downtime (should the current runner decide to quit for some reason) is low enough to not go into night mode (or at least not for to long). A nearby 1% max stress, priority 1 Massage Table will help to attract any idle duplicants, should you want more perfect detection: attach two wheels so one is, with high probability, in use at all times. Just set wheels to 50%, HG to 30% of batteries + termoswitch on HG checking "temperature near HG is below X" In the night HG will feed the batteries, not up to 100% but in small chunks due to overheating. After every overheating HG is disconnected from batteries, so will check 30% limit again. By tuning X you can achieve "battery is 5% in the morning if it was 50% in the evening" Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/79411-electrical-timer/#findComment-929324 Share on other sites
BlueLance
Unfortunately this wouldn't work for me, my base is a literal fridge, my temperature in my base is literally constant, maybe moving up or down half a degree, the switches are not the best for selecting an accurate amount...as of yet Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/79411-electrical-timer/#findComment-929758 Share on other sites
