superhanz
I cant do much anymore because in cycle 400 no gas vent works anymore. I have no idea what produces so much polluted oxygen or how to get rid of it. This is a game ending design.
Moggles
It could be slime emitting polluted oxygen. You could try erasing slime in a few bio distillers converting it to algae. Hopefully you still have sand to purify the polluted water that they produce. I've struggled with this too and I never found a good solution that wasn't a complex hydrogen bubbler to freeze the PO2. MagicManICT
I'm assuming you mean the pressure in the room at the vent is too high for the contents to be emptied out. Let some air out the room. You can mine out more space to pump air to, but you may run into the same problem later. You can liquefy, even freeze, gasses with a cooling system circulating super cooled hydrogen, which lowers air pressure and any liquids can then be routed to storage or filtered. (Sorry, don't have a link off hand, there are several examples here on the forum.) Make your walls of gas permeable tiles so gas will flow naturally instead of needing to be pumped. Pufts will purify the air, but it doesn't really do anything about the pressure problem. Another note is that you might have a tile or two of different air types close together and in a situation where none of them will move. The only thing I can think of there is to open some space or pump air out of the area. As far as where it comes from, it's usually one of a few sources: morbs, slime that sublimates after it is mined, polluted water contaminating the air it touches, compost bins, stressed out dupes with a puke response, and flatulent dupes. All of these can be dealt with in some way either by removal of the source or making sure it does get stored where you don't want the air going to. Ninja'd by moggles as I was writing my post... As far as the sand, you can make more if you can heat certain materials up hot enough.

To stop slime and polluted dirt doing that, you can put them in storage container under water, or in a very cold room, or process them in compost and distiller. To stop polluted water doing that, create a thick enough layer of carbon dioxide above it (it only releases polluted oxygen to clean or polluted oxygen). You may want to collect all your polluted water in just a few places, preferably at the bottom of the base where the carbon dioxide will collect naturally. Another option is making sure the surface of polluted water in contact with air is as small as possible, i.e. build a wall right above the surface, leaving no air in between it and the wall. Once you get rid of sources of polluted oxygen, you can just wait till your dupes breathe it out.
Risu
The only thing that ignores pressure (assuming you're not exploiting anything) is polluted water converting to polluted oxygen in the presence of breathable gas.
n37runn3r
I mined out too many air pockets and have a similar problem. When you have tons of sand you can use the air deodorizers to cut polluted oxygen into 1/2 as much clean oxygen, but it's a VERY slow process. So far I found containing the pollution sources away and isolating the hydrogen or CO2 was helpful but I had a hard time maintaining it.
n37runn3r
I'm finding the air scrubbers that remove carbon dioxide seem to help.
