Abyssalite Overheat Temperature +2000c

Recommended Posts

So I just restart and found Abyssalite (raw mineral), when i hover over it. I just found out that it can withstand +2000 degree celcius temp.

Wow...

if we found metal that have the same attribute, this will solve all of the "overheat mechanic is broken", "we can't make anymore steam with our battery/generator", etc..

What about Wolframite? I haven't tested it yet, but since Tunsten/Wolfram does have a very high melting point (filaments of incandescent light bulbs are made of it, other metals would melt) this metal should be the appropriate for such tasks.

By the way, its tooltip info is bugged right now:

At the moment, there's no metal that has more than +50C overheat temperature, so it's not possible to build anything that requires metal that has more than 125C overheat temp.

You can surely build pipes and tiles from abyssalite, but pipe outlets, pumps, and all such other things can't go over 125C without breaking. For now.

Since material modifiers are entirely disconnected from material properties, wolframite isn't better in any way than copper (it has no bonus overheat temp). Metals with +50C overheat temp are: gold amalgam and steel (not available outside of debug mode). On the other hand, you can freely freeze everything to absolute zero, as there's currently no negative effects of low temperatures for your machinery (apart from broken pipes when gases liquefy and liquids solidify).

Gold amalgam said +5000% overheat.  However the tool tip said only +50C to overheat.  So I would think +20000% means +2000C to overheat.

There doesn't seem to be anyway to make steel yet.  It also give +50C overheat, which is meh.
