Chennios
Hello there, So I bought this game yesterday and I haven't been able to quit just yet. I build a Bio distiller to get some more algea, and I connected the output of contaminated water to a water purifier. I noticed that if one 'blob or circles' of contaminated water got into the water purifier, two or sometimes three 'blobs or circles' of pure water would come out. I haven't yet tried to dump this water somewhere so I don't know if the quantity of those blobs are actual reliable. Has anyone tried to use this to their advantage? SamLogan
The problem is that the sands is in a really small amount in the map, so how you'll purify all this water?

And this proofs that I'm still quite a noob. Didn't think about that at all! Thanks for the information.
Vilda
You can mouseover the pipes to check actual contents. A blob can be up to 10 kg of liquid. There should not any water loss/gain from going through purifier, that comes from taking in partial blobs and their merging, should be fixed in next patch. Ecu
Actually, you can use heat to turn contaminated water into steam and then cool the steam to have it turn back into clean water. No sand needed to purify, just a lot more work. Not sure if this will stay in the game as a purifying method, but it works currently.

Well I haven't even come acros steam, but I'll definitely try that out.
Ecu
Steam doesn't generate normally on the map, I don't believe. It may end up being made if water is generated in the lava area, I'm not sure. However, you can make it via heating up a room very hot (generally via batteries) and leaking water into it.
Determination
To be honest I dont see why purification by boiling to steam wont end up in the final game. Its a relevant way of purifying water in real life, its main challenges being chemicals that evaporate at a similar temperature (few and rare) and cleaning residue left behind. The main reason its a problem now is that its hilariously easy given how your duplicants are extremely resistant to temperature. But these can be solved in ways that make the game interesting. Making duplicants vulnerable to extreme temperatures and pressures and requiring spacesuits to work near magma would mean there is some tech and industry progression to get to this level of purification. Boiling contaminated water to my mind should leave behind contaminated dirt or some other unpleasant substance, it means your duplicants need to clean it the system regularly, you can process the substance which creates more gameplay. Not to mention physically carving the level to solve challenges is just cool and fun compared to building something that exists in a few tiles and consumes a finite resource. Just hope they prioritize fun over realism. Games that go too hard on realism usually end up arduous to play. I dislike playing real life normally, definitely don't want games that try to mimic it above all else.
