Wolfgang Starting Weapon

So.

i have been playing wolfgang for a few years.Something about him i just find so charming and fun to play, even tho i cant leave camp for 5 minutes without a stack of meatballs.I get it tho, he does great damage but you have to suffer and work for it.

Here's the problem - Wigfrid doesnt suffer for anything and gets the great perks and bonuses of being a fighter.

i always chose not to play as her because, in my opinion, she's the noobs choice.(im ready for the hate) as evidenced by the usual 2-3 wigs out of a team of 6.

well, i've been playing her a lot the last few days and its actually hilarious how easy mode the game becomes.Not to sound too snarky, but it just shows the difference from wolfgang when you start.No gathering for mats to make a science machine, just to make a spear.No helmet until an alchemy, and all this while constantly starving.it's doable, of course.

 

But i propose a starter for the strongman.He should spawn with his iconic Dumbell.Strong as a hambat and craftable with, just throwing it out there, a board and 12 twelve rocks.Used as a club and with durabilty.

for there to be such a one sided gap between the two fighter characters just seems so silly

Exactly. Wolfgang is stronger if you're willing to put in a little bit of work. It's not like getting the materials for a science machine and spear is difficult to get.

Its not just about being stronger.Wig has a dmg buff too, on top of reganing health and sanity from fighting.i spawned near a spider biome and some 25ish spiders and walked away full health and sanity in the first day, loaded with spider loot.

its not like im asking to start with food and armor too.just a weapon.

something craftable that can be made for teamates too, would be nice

I disagree with this suggestion, to be honest.  Wolfgang is the strongest damaging character in the game and it is very easy to obtain weaponry.  Wigfrid is able to make a strong helmet and weapon, but won't ever be as strong as Wolfgang maxed.  This allows the two characters to both be combat characters but approach it from a different angle.

Giving Wolfgang such a strong innate weapon would be too good and Wolfgang would eclipse Wigfrid further than he already does regarding combat.  I will agree that Wigfrid seems a bit too strong and as such perhaps her special helmet/weapon should require higher cost to craft.  Beyond that, I just cannot really agree with this.

Wolfgang can have a x2 damage multiplier on full hunger. Wigfrid, on the other hand, only has a x.25 damage multiplier. He literally has four times the damage multiplier she has. I think Klei already knows what it's doing with its characters.
