Reeds going extinct?

Recommended Posts

Well, it's how it is and I have no idea why, but Klei have not made some tweaks for this at all. Like, can they at least respawn in the places where they were placed upon world gen after a few days upon being burnt?

It's quite cool to see people suddenly bringing up various issues about the game, although I am not sure when Klei are going to take a look at any of it. For some reason they made some minor tweaks for Dragonfly over hotfixes and updates, which completely changed the way you would approach the fight, yet nothing else that's more important to take care of gets anything? I really don't understand the devs, I really don't.

Bushes, grass and sticks are renewed nearby the portal. However reeds are not. Currently a player can waltz into the swamp and burn down all the reeds ruining the world for everyone. Is this how it should be?

There is a (very) small chance to obtain reeds in tumbleweeds. I don't suggest it's viable but it's good to know if it can allows you to keep playing on a server you like.

I think that Klei is trying to make ways to renew stuff that will intregrate in the game smoothly, and it's a lot of work, because if you always use the same way, it's boring, and some others ways could cause lag, and... So it's not obvious.

Also, i don't know, i have the feeling that preventing griefing (or at least, let people able to recover for griefing) is hard. First, you have to think like a griefer, i'm not sure it's natural when you spend hours trying to build a game to think how people could destroy things for another. So many ways to grief...

If griefer wants to be a griefer, he'll just get a torch and light up your base. The only effective way to approach griefers is rollback, sadly.

But yeah, I know the fear of people exploiting something you made. Back in the day I used to make minecraft maps for my friends and I've spent quite a lot of time sealing off every little loophole I found and making sure the players can't leave the map or glitch through doors.
