aquelarrefox Posted October 12, 2016 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Hi. i was looking and one thing i really like is play without map in general. i was wondering if theres a way to simulate a more realistic map stuf. i try to dont employ the map and run over the zones remembering places. i saw had mod (have some good ideas,and some mad code lines ) clear the map everyday. Mybe theres a way to control the clearing of fog of war. A good idea is employ some item as a map, when you consume it, you will clear explore the map until end of the day. Ofcourse blanking the position icon. i made some mods for other games, mybe if some one notice me about commands i can make it. Octyabr Posted October 13, 2016 Share Posted October 13, 2016 That's an interesting idea, the first thing that comes to my mind is the final stage of adventure mode, where the map is completely black except for a small circle around your character, even if you move. About the map, I thing it would be more realistic if the player itself must draw it, something like Phantom Hourglass' maps would be the easiest approach. You can definitely use the following to clear a circle though: GetWorld().minimap.MiniMap:ShowArea(x, y, z, radius) Radius of 2100 covers the whole world at standard size. Sadly I have to agree, everything about the Minimap is on the dark side of the game (... the C++ side) Looking a little in the code I've found something relevant: GetWorld().minimap.MiniMap:ClearRevealedAreas(true) will clear all the map as if it were day 1. GetWorld().minimap.MiniMap:SetRevealRadiusMultiplier(mult) manipulates how big is the area revealed in the map. It's not much, but it's better than nothing, what you could do is set the reveal radius to a big number, then add a periodic task to the world/player/minimap to erase everything, let's say, every second. This will result in a complete black map except for your immediate surroundings. Something like this: Spoiler Map at SetRevealRadiusMultiplier(20), notice how it doesn't make a circle. Odd Isn't it? You could also try setting the RevealRadiusMultiplier to 0 to disable player revealing (actually, how do ghosts in DST disable that? And how do spying glasses in SW do their things?)
