Sure wish I could go spelunking without losing my domesticated beefalo. :/

I assume there's a good reason followers can't move between server shards, and that's fine, but it makes it very difficult to keep my domesticated beefalo from going feral while making any sort of progress exploring the caves and ruins. Both times I've headed down for the summer I've come back up to find my previously domesticated beefalo shaking his saddle off and losing his froofy coat. The first time I didn't come back up at all so that was to be expected, but the second time I came up every few days and fed him a few dragonpies and he still eventually shook it off and headed back for his herd. It'd be really nice if there was a practical way to not have to choose between my 15-20 days of work and being able to actually explore the caves for more than a day or two at a time.

Agreed. It's such a pain.... Perhaps a machine like the flingo who will regular feed the beefalo in a radius? Beefalo Domesticating needs an upgrade...

Beefalo feeding trough, made from boards, cut grass, and maybe a more rare component.

Much as I appreciate all the likes, I think posting would be more effective in attempting to command Klei's attention, y'all.

More likes = More attention? The Devs linger here sometimes, perhaps keeping this topic alive would spring one thing or another (i.e how the long pig removal thing worked out).

I don't know if you can sort by likes, but I didn't find it. You could be right! I just noticed that people were liking but not commenting and the topic drifted to the second page. It was just a thought.

I've been trying to think of whether there might be something I'm missing that should make this work out somehow, but I haven't come up with anything. The only thing I can think of that's not risky is for everybody to designate a "no fun" guy who sits at the base and keeps everybody's beefalo fed while everybody else has fun and they... don't. I guess you could balance it out in shifts or something but even then that just seems like an unreasonable necessity to both do what you want to do and keep your time investments from flipping you the bird and going back to eating off the ground.
