Fastent way to get doydoys

Putting two doydoys together in a walled area, or a small safe island keeps the doydoys mating. However, I have been told that, instead of Fibbonacci increase, doydoys will create nest one at a time, regardless of total doydoy size in the closed area. Should one, then, ideally put a pair of doydoys in a separate closed area (different pen, or EVEN A WHOLE NEW SAFE ISLAND) to speed up the doydoy breeding process?

p.s. Maxwell is coming to DST! So EXCITED! Now, please let Fibbonacci come to doydoys. We were expecting Fibbonacci for SOOOO LOOOOOONG. Beefalo, or anything else that breeds simply had a invisible spawner. Doydoys DO IT; they make love, they make eggs. Therefore, they should be governed by the mighty law of Fibbonacci; Maxwell would have liked the Fibbonacci sequence, though he would most certainly have despise doydoys for their stupidity.

The game pairs two randomly chosen Doydoys that are nearby every 2-3 days and mates them to create 1 egg.  It can't go any faster than that regardless of how you pen them.

They're not supposed to be bred fast, they are specifically designed so that they are prone to extinction, at least until you get the max of 20 in one world.

Doydoy mating process is a world component, so it won't help to put them in different places as long as they are on the same world. You can bring them to Volcano however, which should double the rate of population growth (and the max count), provided you can keep visiting both groups frequently enough to trigger the mating.

Other thing you can try is to mess with the eggs & nests. Pick up eggs after a new nest is made, repeat, until you have enough eggs before spoiling them, then place them back in the nests. This should avoid waiting for the hatching time between new members, since that time would now overlap. I'm not sure however, if a new nest would be made with an existing empty one. You may need to hammer it down, then build new nests.

They can also be bred in RoG/Vanilla, so you can potentially triple the population.

Perhaps you can even breed them in caves.
