spoiled food problem

Hi over the days i got an new issue so it's like this:I usually end with a lot of food spoiled mostly because i don't use it a lot and when i try to put that spoiled food into the crock pot it dissapears after 2 seconds can someone help me i had 15 spoiled cooked eggs and 7 dissapeared when i putted them in the crock pot?

If they actually fully spoil while sitting in the crockpot they just disappear

since i don't have any current ice box that would make me end up with a lot of food.is that bad?

1. I would suggest getting an ice box as soon as possible.

thanks for suggesting but the truth is i don't like playing with wolfgang....and thanks for answering so fast i lost 25 berries because of the dissapearing so thanks a lot

i would rather gameplay with an hardcore character rather than with wolfgang

If you really got a surplus of food and it's about to spoil you might as well let it turn to rot and use that to fertilize Grasstufts and Berrybushes you moved closer to your base.

For Grass it's even better to use Rot since they won't wither again after getting fertilized with Rot. Berrybushes onnthe other hand give you about 3 harvests before you need to refertilize them with Rot (or manure/guano for that matter).

Well there are ways to have a stockpile ad not let it rot/spoil.

For example berrys and Veggys on farms won't spoil unless picked and that's how i temd to create food stockpiles just a binch of Berrys/Farms that are ready to harvest what I only use when I need fillers.

In general i rarely Stockpile food anymore at least veggys and such because that way I don't have to worry about  food going bad because I didn't use it. Only exception is meat but even then I tend to cook my meat asap anyway amd turn the rest into  Jerky what takes forever to spoil and even then cam be feed to a Birdcage for some fresh Eggs.

Since my character is vegetarian i guess i can use meat to rot instead except monster mest is that an good way to farm rot?

Sure specialy if you farm spiders for Silk and Glands you get a surplus of MM anyway. But even then it's actually smarter to feed that MM to Pigs either just for the Extra Workforce (chopping Wood for days) but if you give 1 Pig 4 MM it always turns into a Werepig and those always drop 1 Meat and 1 Pigtail.

The Pigtail is what you want since even as a Vegetarian you need either more Pigs or Football Helmets to fight off hounds.

and i can only use eggs for taffy since i can't eat eggs thanks for helping me that fast
