Koalefant manure farm/pen

Hey guys I just made a Koalefant pen for the first time to farm manure and I'm not sure if I did it wrong, the koalefant is only dropping up to 1 manure at a time, and won't drop another until the 1 is picked up. Did I do something wrong? The pen is fairly small, will making it a bigger space somehow make the Koalefant drop more manure? How exactly is the manure drop calculated? Thanks in advance.

I believe they're like Beefalos: there's a specified "capacity" of manure that can exist at a given time in a given amount of space.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmm so what is the smallest size pen I can make while at the same time maximizing the manure output? Added a screenshot in the original post.

Much, much larger than that.

When I farm moles and koalas alone I usually keep them free-range, but that has complications of its own.  The most successful koalefant pen I've seen was about four times that area (so double the length and width) with spaces between each wall segment, built directly beside the camp and cleaned out frequently.  With six or more players there's usually someone passing through the koala pen on their way to or from camp.  Problem was the walls got torn down by hounds because people insisted on fighting the hounds inside the camp.  If you can dedicate most of a screen or more to the koalefant pen you might get away with cleaning it out less.  Depends on how many people are in your world and how much rock and real estate you have to work with.

So I made the pen 4 times bigger and he still refuses to drop more than 1.

Well, according to his lua file, his poop requires minimum spacing 8 units of distance between them and at most 2 pieces in the radius of 20.

With that one piece nicely in the center of the pen, the new one would have to be in one of the corners, I guess he manages to avoid them during the time of the pooping time.

Just keep it as a pet, you can turn one of those neighbor pigs in your screenshot into a werepig and get all the manure you'd ever need by letting them eat your unwanted berries, petals, or what have you.

Well, that pretty much tells all. You've got to kill him. It's the only way. Koalefants & Beefalo must die.
