Hello,

I tried using the "Extended Sample Character" mod V1.2.3 ,but it just keeps crashing when I try to select the new character. I don't click the "Go" button, I just click the character icon and then this happens:

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it

Tnx,

the esc template for dst, at least if I remember correctly, uses a template that doesn't have the right form for the name image (when you select a character skin, the character's name appears above them. this is the file with the issue) did you edit the name_esctemplate.tex/ rename it or rename the .xml?

Even after changing the names_esctemplate.xml file with the changes the patch notes said, it still crashes with the same error. Then changes were to replace the

<Element name="names_esctemplate.tex" u1="0.00048828125"

with

<Element name="esctemplate.tex" u1="0.00048828125"

Halp idk wat to do animore

while its the same kind of crash, it crashed because of a different file, "/mods/extended sample character-DST/bigportraits/esctemplate_none.xml"

yeah, the online esc tutorial is for ds even though there's a template for dst. I've had this same problem before. You need to either leave those files alone, since sometimes the autocompiler has issues with them, or make sure everything is named correctly. you can keep character assets as the esc defaults as long as you leave the related assets alone. can you make a zip file of your mod, it might make it easier for me to find the problem. For now, change the .xml to the way it originally was and check all the asset references in the prefab and modmain files
