Share your DLC ideas!

Recommended Posts

Since SW is slowly coming to be a finished DLC, I've started to think about possibilites for a new DLC.

I personally would love to see, either something cave-related, something magical or if you are familiar with the "Twilight Forest" Mod for Minecraft, something like that. (You could ofcourse look it up, if you want to. :p)

What do you guys think? I would love to see more magical / mythological creatures.

Personally I can't think of any other environment or setting, other than the lonely islands and wilderness that we already have, which would play into this kind of playstyle well. So the only thing left would be an alien planet where everything will just be made-up anyway.

I just gave you 2 environments, even though they aren't 100% unique.

And I said I can't think of any other than wilderness and lonely islands that would play into the playstyle really well. If you really want me to be direct, I was implying that I didn't think your ideas are good enough to produce an entire DLC out of them.

Now that you've gotten me thinking about it, I'm actually really wondering what they'll end up doing... The suspense is killing me!

Are you sure? When I said magical, I never said they couldn't come with their own magical stuff.

I'm not sure. And yes, that would play into my comment where everything on an alien planet is made-up anyway, so yes, I do agree on that. So to be more specific, I don't think there's any real-world-emulating setting that could be used for this playstyle, so the next thing would have to move onto unrealistic, magical, made-up, science-fiction type stuff. Yes.

It's just that personally I would miss the parallels this game draws with real life. I was trying to think of maybe rather some post-apocalyptic world where you're the only human left, and now have to make-do with some modern and urban left-overs...

I'm fine with made up content, it's something that klei always does, lol. :D

My idea for a dlc would be somewhere outside earth on the outer space!! Exploring different planets and traveling by spaceships, crafting space suits, using resources on different planets, encountering various alien species etc.

... That sounds like Spore.

As for possible DLC ideas, I think maybe an endless desert or something medieval. Then Klei can use the unimplemented characters in a suitable setting.

Maybe it'd be called Dont Starve : Biomes and they expand upon the biomes that already exist in the game. Make the desert hotter in summer and warmer in winter, add new biomes all together and maybe have the biomes hold a new boss monster. Kinda like the DragonFly in DST. I honestly have no idea what the biomes could be but anything would do!

More science. An extra tier of science machine that lets you do simple electronic things (remotely control your lanterns). Another, darker tier of magic that definitely goes too far. 2 new bosses, you need magic to fight the tech based one and tech to fight the magic based one.

I know there's a mod with the same theme but we've visited land, and we've visited the sea, time to visit the sky! Where the base game focuses on building a base, and Shipwrecked DLC focuses on exploration, a sky themed DLC would combine both of these.

Biomes: First, the idea of going from biome to biome would be going up at times, such as climbing old ladders or using hot air balloons and maybe even a rocket ship. Here's at least three I've come up with:

Mountain Peaks: You could cross bridges to get from peak to peak. This is where you'd find the most wood and natural materials.

City in the Sky: A steampunk themed deserted and ruined city that you access by hot air balloon. You'd find mechanical parts here but fewer natural resources.

The Moon: The highest you could go is the moon, which has small biodomes with breathable air. To access it, you'd need a rocket ship as well as specialized armor for when you reach the surface initially.

Uh...that's all I've got so far.

I think this could be a very cool idea and i think having cutscenes for each of these would be amazing, i.e. when you're going to the moon you see an animation of your rocket ship leaving Maxwell land for space.

But in all honesty i have no idea how that would work storyline wise, but, the same could be said for sweet cakes

An idea from me :)

Make a Airplane crash or plane crash

so u can make your place in plane like home and allot of new traps like figure four snares deadfall traps hammock trap

+ allot of new survival skills modern educational :)

Alchemy for explosives for cave and hard rock mining

Artic map ....

polar bears wolfs foxes

New character faces like Bear Grylls :D

This game would make Klei earn more money
