RabbitsMurderer
As you can see the chore is very close to my science machine, and I know that sand bags block water so I got 80 sand, but I don't know how to use them efficiently, am I supposed to surround the whole chore? Also, can I place them tangentially instead of sticking each side to the other to save bags? What about puddles, can you tell me about them? Also, what about my lake? AnonymousKoala
I don't think anything would happen to your lake. Look up how others did it. I can't describe it well, but I think the word I am looking for is organize every 3 sandbags in a triangle shape of sorts. Place turf on the places close to points of interest to prevent puddles starting nearby and if a puddle does start, put sandbags on it to make it not spawn toxic musquitoes, or all around it as well to make sure it won't spread either. MuzluSut
My suggestion is, don't attach too much to worlds. Because its still early access, we are getting updates frequently. You will needed to start another world to get the updated stuff.. On this world, you are going to need a lot of sandbags. http://dont-starve-game.wikia.com/wiki/Sandbag The island is too small. I know it looks cozy and nice but you know puddle is gonna be a problem. You gotta surround the island. That is gonna be tough, considering I am already in the season, but anyways, I will try to surround the main part that I am in as wide as possible, what do you think? 1 hour ago, AnonymousKoala said: I don't think anything would happen to your lake. I think I understand what you are saying, you mean I have to use 3 sand bags each side facing the other instead of being able to remove the bag that represents the top of the triangle, right? Is this the only way though? It seems to be so consuming. Cover it all with turf, so puddles won't be able to spawn there. Its time consuming but I believe its the one option that will make sure puddles won't spawn. grekon
Tides only come onto beach biomes. Your whole island is in jungle turf so there will be no tides. You don't need to do anything. When I find the slot machine I grab a pitchfork and dig up some magma turf and put it on the edges of the island. That's how I deal with tides. Remember not to do that everywhere, without tides there will be no seashells. TemporaryMan
Koala and grekon have it right: only your lake's beach has tides, and you can floor the rest to prevent puddles. That said, your island looks like it's a 23 x 27 triangle, so you'll need ~310 floor turfs to eliminate puddles completely. Obviously that's not happening this year (unless you have a massive stockpile of snake skins you haven't told us about). Instead I would suggest just flooring your kitchen & prototyping area and a small area close enough to the lake to go fishing at night without getting soaked by the tides. The island's small enough it should be easy to find all the puddles that form after rain and cover them with sand bags so they don't expand. For puddles you need to cover the whole island with "artificial" turf - flooring. But yeah putting any turf on the edges of an islands stops the tides. One more reason that sandbags are useless. Yeah, like I've said many many times before, the way flooding works in this game in general needs some work.
