[Suggestion] Making the Iron Wind repairable with gears.

Recommended Posts

As egotistical/dumb as it may sound to say "my idea is brilliant", I really think this is a good idea. On all of my save files, I have so many gears sitting around gathering dust, and I know a lot of other people do to. This could help with that in a good way, I think. Especially since, as far as I can tell, the Iron Wind is un-repairable by any means, which has so far just discouraged me from ever using it because it's such a rare item (once per year, IF you manage to actually kill that terrifying monstrosity.) and it seems a little inconsistent with the plentiful drops (Not complaining, I think it's pretty great to get 2 eyes and 2 gills so it's actually a significant incentive to go after the mighty beast instead of just trying to kill a sharkitten and get away with the gills for the hat.) you get from the Tiger Shark, who, in my opinion, is a lot easier to deal with. At least on land. I'm sure in the water she's a nightmare. Speaking of which, I really wish there were more uses for the Gills. They're only useful for the hat, right? Nothing else? And the hat can last forever if you just don't let it break and make sewing kits as needed.

In conclusion, I think it would be a great feature because it'd make the Iron Wind even MORE valuable to me than it already is, and I'd use it all the freaking time since I finally have something to pour my surplus gears into!

Just my thoughts, please share your own, guys! ^^

Sewing kit, just like all the other sails. But it would make more sense to repair it with gears.

Oh my god, I'm an idiot. Sorry. I tried it earlier but somehow didn't see the option, but I assure you I really did check. In any case, I still think this is the better option. Sewing kit doesn't make a lot of sense other than game-logic-wise, and I think it'd be more interesting to repair it with gears, and like I said, it'd finally give all the extra ones we don't need a purpose.

I fully support this idea.

Late game or actually after some time in general, you will have tons of gears lying around, and considering that killing twister would be around that point, and of course the actual logic, this would be really good.

I also support this idea, I actually tried to repair it with gears but obviously it didn't work. And it didn't occur to me that i would be able to sew it to repair it ^^

1 gear to repair 10% iron wind could be a nice use of gears in late game and make us want to collect them after the first 12 we get from the first horseboats we cross.

I think that you should be able to craft a mechanical repair kit of sorts, using gears and other items.

It should repair 10% of the iron winds durability and have 5 uses, since everyone has a trillion gears and the iron wind is super good.

I liked the idea, have tons of gears in my chest, and the FBK keep spawning...

Also, it's a great ideia to make other uses for the gills (maybe a tiger sail?), killed all sharkitens, have like, 8 gills because the dumbrella needs only 1 gill...

Tiger sail with wind resistance please!

I like this a lot!

Or maybe even some sort of tigerskin sail that actually reduces water damage from waves and reduces the amount of wetness you get from crashing into waves. Oh my god I think I need to make a new thread for this lol

You sir are my hero. I doubt I'd have tried to use a sewing kit to fix it.

I do like the idea of using gears to fix it. That was what I was hoping would be the solution. Perhaps letting us craft a golden tool box of some sort?

What else would it be able to though?
