So I found out why my edits doesn't change my character. It's because the anim zip file isnt getting updated. No matter what I save or do it wont update my anim zip files. So how do I auto compile it because it doesn't do it automatically when I launch steam or the auto compiler from dst mod tools?

There is also a compiler that can help you

compiler.cmd

Perhaps delete your .zip in anim folder and also .zip in exported folder.

Then autocompile.

If your autocompiler doesn't run on game launch, go to Steam/SteamApps/common/Don't Starve Mod Tools/mod_tools and launch autocompiler yourself.

So your character doesn't update its build? When did that crash happen?

Could you attach your whole mod here? It would be much easier to just look into it and check what's wrong.

oh no the mod doesn't crash at all. It just when I load it up it doesnt make any updates.

When it does crash though is when I remove the zip file from the anim folder + the zip file in the exported folder

As I said, you need to delete your current .zip file and delete .zip in exported folder as well, THEN use autocompiler. Of course the game will crash if you just delete the animation and won't replace it with a new freshly compiled one.

If you used autocompiler after that though, it means there's something wrong with your files, because .scml returns an error and skips compiling. Then I'd recommend making a fresh copy of the exported folder from extended sample character template and simply replace .png files you have changed with originals.

oh I mentioned above that I did click auto compiler lol before launching the game. I also get the auto compiler again when I launch DST. So I dont think its auto compiler itself. I also mentioned that the template itself if altered is not updating.
