If I pick up Volcano Staff on the end of mild season will the next season after the penalty mild?

As a WX-78 player I absolutely hate rain, can I skip Hurricane and Monsoon season if pick up the Volcano trap at the end of mild season?

By the way, are chilled amulets enough to survive Dry Season? As in I wear backpacks normally but when I start overheating I equip the blue amulet, will that save me?

From my recent RoG playthrough i can say that they indeed cool you down more then you heat up. So you can survive with 1 Chilled Amulet and a Frozen Thermalstone in your inventory but i suggest having a spare amulet just incase (i needed 2 to survive the RoG summer)

Can't say much about the Volcano Staff trap never seen it and even if i would find it i probably won't mess with it.

Volcano staff just causes a Meteor shower to occur on you for a small time when you pick it up and doesn't change seasons or temperature AT ALL, upto 6 or 7 meteors will fall on you after 3 seconds when you pick up the staff with a little rumble, get on a boat right away as precaution.

However I don't what know happens when you use it AFTER picking it up

its bugged I think since players have been saying permanent meteor showers have been occurring but no report of season change so go ahead.

and YES chilled omelets are capable of averting heat in dry season but is uneconomical to use (2 minute use only) plus thermal stones are useless cause they heat tooo quickly (bug in dry season), instead you should make a dumbrella by killing a tiger shark or kittens or just make a flower shirt which is the best.

The Chilled Amulet is awesome and completely saved me from annoyance when I got it in the middle of last summer, you just have to carefully ration how you use it since it does run down quickly. I have a mod that tells me my temp/world temp, so I just put it on until I reach the degrees it cools you down to then take it off until I start overheating, lasts for a good while that way.

With the ice maker in SW, the ice cube is a very viable option now.

The lack of gold and the fact that I will take lots of damage from being Robot Man doesn't really appeal to me.

Ah forgot that XD. Just standing under trees also works. Unlike in RoG, in SW you cannot overheat when under a shadow. After that you can combine the feather fan with an umbrella if you need to travel long distances next summer.

If you have lack of gold I would be very much against the chilling amulet.

I always carry a chilled amulet in summer, but try not to use it much. Between the floral shirt and the Dumbrella, I'm usually fine, especially if I'm mostly on the water. It's cooler there.

Well, I was stupid enough to make 2 of them and was left with no Gold, oh well.

The problem with Floral Shirt is that it doesn't cool, it delays, which is bad because I like my backpack slot way too much and didn't find Packim Baggins yet, also no luck finding sharkitten den, I'll stick with Straw Hat for now. Does being on water prevent overheating or does it delay overheating?

Playing without a backpack is definitely a particular style. It once seemed unthinkable to me but now I'm used to it.

If you don't travel too far from your base picking up a small stack of the ice every couple of days is also an option. Unless you're playing as Wigfrid, who won't eat it.

I pretty much grab 12 Meatballs and return every ~20 days to store my junk, really digging robot's Lead Belly and abundance of seaweed. Maybe I should learn to use no backpack or make myself a Cargo Boat, combat is impossible on water anyways.

Most of the wearable stuff like floral shirt and blubber suit also has a passive sanity boost, which is one less thing to worry about when you're using them. This style does require a certain amount of planning and discipline, though.
