banana pops aren't great either, they last 1,5 days untill they go stale and then they're pretty much useless which makes them not better for instant sanity on longer traveling tours. the parrots will out speed your monkeys if you're talking about equal spawn rates which makes 2 huts for you and normal bird landing rate in a jungle biome.

so again you're saying nerf my play style which this basically is. nobody would say summoning krampus in rog is op when you could beat every day bunnyman for 3 points each. go op with the amount of bunny hutches and you have your op krampus farm which is also easily setup when you hammer houses in the caves and wall them in on the surface.

just give me an example in DS RoG that you can make so much food from a never ending passive mob. Just a single example where u can get that much meat? Bunnymen are not passive if you got meat item u can die in the process. ALso again an example that is not even. You can never easily spawn krampus with bunnyman. Bunnyman does not always drop meat either. If your sanity is low bunnyman does not drop nice food. Fix food is a problem there. think about that you got a rabbit spawner in RoG. you kill them and you also get morsel and carrots in the process also u can spawn krampus. Give me this kind of example if there is any.

You are giving methods from base game that is either does not give that much food or does not spawn krampus or some mobs that are not passive...

Just a single example from RoG. A mob that has combination of these things. (COMBINATION)(not something that matches to only 1 or 2 or 3 or 4)

1)A mob that always drops 2 food item.

2)A mob which is always passive.

3)A mob that spawns in a very fast rate and always spawns (does not extinct)

4)A mob that you can spawn krampus.

5)A mob that you can kill with a simple axe.

6)A mob that can spawn 4 at a time from a den.

closest is of course the butterfly.

well its 1 food item but its a very good one which really benefits you early game and not just once you got your crock pot up.

its always passive.

rate is about average but in dst its very insane when you have multiple player on screen.

1 point per kill.

yeah they dont spawn in winter. These bloody hell monkeys always spawn. You need a really big dedication to have butterfly farm. you can fast farm them with ice flingos but this time u cannot spawn krampus. you cannot make new flowers from killed butterflies (you need silk for that to catch) but for monkeys just sit there to wait for their poops and then kill them to get their banana and their ingredient is enough to make new dens..  kill them collect banana add 10 twigs and tadaa new monkey den.

One thing I must say thou, it is not fun killing 1200+ birds (I counted the Boomerang I used) to get the krampus sack. Is it fun farming walled apes? I can only say it is better than killing 1200+ birds. And I bet noone will find it fun to watch me spend 2 in game years getting all these logs for boomerang and killings all these birds.

So does reducing the loot fix this animal abuse issue? No, I will still wall the apes and farm them for it is a much better way to farm the krampus sack. It is not like there aren't any other food already sitting in my ice box.

May be make it so that when engaged in combat, half of the involved monkeys to will throw poop regardless of distance, while the other half will melee.

However you can keep the bananas in ice box for 20 days and make banana pops anytime you want.

I often get enough banana from cutting down trees. I have enough banana before I build the ape farm. After I get my krampus sack I never go back to my ape farm again for I have enough food in my ice box just by doing other stuff. I really don't see much point nerfing/not nerfing the monkey. It is not a significant change.

Next time I play I will go with a no banana pops run and see how does it affect my game. My bet is however not much difference as In SW sleep is easier than in DST.

In the early game when you don't have an Ice Box and since gears are not easy to come by I guess all that morsel and banana would just go bad very quickly. Also jerky is not that good since after the first 23 days it's raining non stop.

But it does sound way to good for the mid game, when you have your Ice Box and Ice Maker, so you can just have a long and steady supply of morsel and banana. And then when you reach the dry and mild seasons again you can make a shitload of jerky. It's pretty annoying having to go get some limpets or killing snakes/spiders just to get some meat, which doesn't even last very long in the Ice Box, it does indeed sound too convenient in comparison.

May be make it so that when engaged in combat, half of the involved monkeys to will throw poop regardless of distance, while the other half will melee. 

 

what i usually do is investing my surplus of silk into bird traps. when you have multiple dens nearby and farm them mainly for monster meat you'll end up with a huge amount of silk for what you just don't have any use, especially not in sw.

the monkey farm is basically your first station to a endless cycle of farming naughtiness. you beat monkeys for maybe 2 krampus spawns or more. after that you could feed the bananas to a werepig for manure and after that you can spam fertilize a farm and grow a massive amount of crops which you turn to seeds at your bird cage. the seeds you can then use to bait your bird traps for more krampus points, feathers and more morsels.

the spam fertilization makes the most sense during nighttime because its not that nice to beat monkeys around that time and maybe you've cleared them out throughout the day and they're respawning still.

point taken. they really do last for a long time.

Something that just popped into my mind: They should reduce the drop rate of bananas to 25% and make the huts more expensive.

That would fix all the issues. Less food and its harder to make a monkey farm. Excessive food isn't really an issue but its true that monkeys give too much.

I actually like the krampus spawning, makes it easier to farm him. Its a good thing for me.

The banana from trees are just bonus. I don't think anyone would cut down trees with the intention to farm banana.

well ... sorry , but i do it , some streamer do it , have friends which do it . if i want a banana pops in emergency because i dont have limpets for make surf and turf , or seafood gombo , i chop tree for getting a banana XD.

Why not make a tent and sleep thou? If I needed the sanity that bad thats what I will be doing.

if you don't have limpets for SnT then you could use living crabs for the fish volume or you kill 3 jellyfish on sea and put them in after you've cooked them on a fire with 1 twig. that's 50/50 for either seafoodgumbo or fishsticks. if you want to eliminate the fishsticks chance just put in any other filler but twigs and it should result in seafoodgumbo.

yhea yhea i know , there is many things that can happen for sanity recover , but sometime , it's happened , we chop tree for banana and egg XD
