For those who don't know, I am trying to mod my character, Albert Higgsbury from my fancomic, Don't Starve: Resumptus:  

After some thinking, I thought I'd base his perks on his abilities before the events of the comic itself and here is what I've come up with:

Perk 1: Natural Fighter: Albert hits a little harder than the other characters. 

Perk 2: Lucid Dreamer: Albert loses sanity slower when using the nightmare tools. 

Perk 3: Shadows are More Aggressive: Normally when the character's sanity gets to a certain point (usually at 15%) the shadow creatures will be able to hurt the player. For Albert, it happens a little earlier, say at like 30% sanity.

Besides the physical perk, the other two have to do with the idea that Albert tends to have episodes of sleep paralysis:

 But I'm curious, is this too overpowered or anything?

More like I couldn't think of anything he could do to regain that sanity and a bit of classified plot data. (Doesn't mean the sun doesn't affect him in the comic)

But that puts him at risk for the Grue, though not losing sanity at night is an idea. Maybe there's a way to work in the loss of sanity in the daylight?

That's the thing, it's a risk/reward scenario.  You can regain your sanity, but you could also take damage from the Grue.

How does this sound?

Perk 3: Mirror Man: Daylight hurts him, darkness heals him.

Sounds good. Also, you don't have to be in complete darkness to regain sanity. You could always be at the edge of darkness like where other characters loose a lot of sanity. Evil flowers could also be taken into consideration, whether they help sanity or not.

Also, how do you remove multiple quotes from posts?! D:
