hyiltiz
Wigfrig's voice has always been disturbing, yet she is my favorite in Don't Starve Together (I would go for Maxwell if he was on the options screen). All other characters voice are amusingly whimsical, adding more flavor to the game. However, Wigfrig's voice is disturbing, and even annoyingly noisy, not beautiful to the ear. This could be subjective, so anyone who agrees and disagrees please express it. SapphireBullets
Wigfrid's voice is almost the best part! It was hilarious the first time I heard her and it's all part of the fun of being a shouty valkyrie. Billythesquig
Wigfrid is not just a Warrior, first and foremost she is an ACTRESS! and more importantly she is a method actress meaning that to perform a role she first will COMPLETELY immerse herself in it for as long as it takes. For Wigfrid this means she will become a Valkyrie in a way that is much larger than life, she will be loud, violent and barbaric but keep a sense of honor as well, an entire horn section PERFECTLY represents what she would be like to talk to each character in don't starve has a voice that matches their personality, wendy is a flute, it's feminine and hauntingly sad Wilson is a muffled trumpet, it sounds matter of fact and stifled, much like how Wilson probably feels before he got into his current situation however take out the muffle and you get his SCIENCE! aspect suddenly there is some allegory in the game if you look closely, the Devil (and the genius, I'm looking at you writing team) is in the details. Dragara
I perfectly understand the reasoning behind Wigfrid's voice, but at the same time… It just seems like too much, y'know? Every character but her has just one instrument for their voice, and here she comes with an entire section just blaring with absolutely no sense of control. I personally think she should be a single euphonium. Euphoniums are a solid and loud part of the low brass, very much capable of conveying a Valkyrie's power and majesty without all of the off-putting cacophony of her current multi-instrument voice. Not to mention, in Ride of the Valkyries the main introductory melody that everybody knows is in large part played by euphoniums... Or French horns. I don't know for sure, but I know it's some instrument with a similar sound to the euphonium. :v Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/61915-wigfrig-voice-change-possible/#findComment-707751 Share on other sites
hyiltiz
I don't quite know much about French horns. But I love the idea that it is too much of a musical/noisy collage of too many instruments. Speaking of horns, some war horns would be really fit her character, and would be interesting, whimsical, not too noisy and loud so that it brings aversion to us.
