cstmarc
I didn't find this question by researching in the forum, but maybe it was already asked before. It seems that fish morsels coming from crabs are not considered as meat in the crockpot. When I use them without other source of meat, I got Ratatouille for example. Is it normal ? Prakhar
I am not a crock pot expert, but it depends on the fillers i guess. Talavaj
It's complicated.A raw Tropical Fish and a LIVE Crab, count as fish AND meat. Fish Morsel and Cooked Fish Morsel count as fish but not as meat.So you can still make all fish recipes with morsels except for Fish Gumbo which is for some reason bugged and does not work with 4 fish morsels although it should. You can however make gumbo with 4 live crabs/raw tropical fish or 3 fish morsels and 1 live crab/raw tropical fish. You can dry raw morsels/raw tropical fish (but not a live crab) which then become small jerky which counts as meat. The morsels actually count as nothing else but fish, so if you put them in a recipe they will be a filler like ice. So the rule of thumb is to catch crabs alive, and never cook tropical fish for the best crockpot efficiency.
