I'm not terribly fond of them thar Jungle trees, the screenshot is during the little intro you get on any new world. On this run this island only spawned with two saplings and two bamboo, so no bamboo raft and because I thought I was being resource efficient by making a pickaxe to gather more flint from the boulders on the island I had to drop this save before it began, yay. So I got to the X on one of the treasure maps I found, yeah it's kind of sunken here... That and those flups dropping Monster meat annoys me, I'm like usually an advocate for more sources of monster meat, but there's almost too much of it in SW for my liking. So this little reef spawned right on the worlds end, so like half of the resources that /would/ have spawned there didn't. Maybe tweak the world gen so only open ocean area's can spawn near the worlds edge. Fabulous. The x in water is a bug I've seen around and they should be aware of it by now.. luckily I haven't had any reefs on the edge like that, but it may be intentional to not have anything spawn close to the edge. The x in water is a bug I've seen around and they should be aware of it by now.. luckily I haven't had any reefs on the edge like that, but it may be intentional to not have anything spawn close to the edge. The first one is what you see of the opening sequence, if a jungle tree is in the way. I've had that happen before. It's this major reason I play with map revealer now adays, I've had vanilla runs where i just could not for the life of me find gold, the pig king (I have pretty bad luck with him simply not existing), or anything of value. So I tend to use map revealer cause I bore of dying because I can't manage to aquire technology past the scienceless tier, but if I can't even get wood for a fire because the resources don't exist anywhere I can reach them? That is so much more obnoxious. It's worth it to note I had a run yesterday where the first island spawned only one flint total, I saved it till I explored the whole island to decide what to do with it, but that's a risky move considering there are times it takes untill nightfall to see even half of the spawning island, SW is a much more difficult struggle for resources than anywhere else in Don't Starve, even caves feel more resource abundant and that's saying something Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/60713-some-annoying-screenshots/#findComment-697034 Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's a piggy back, made from pig skin. Ham bat is too made from meat and pig skin. Meaty stew and meat from... well meat of course. See a pattern there? You get a ton of food out of the slot machine even if you are investing low amounts of dubloons. Divining rod can be looted from chests so if you are super lucky this is plausible . He is just trying to show a few issues with the game and maybe find a temporary fix for them. Gotheran Posted December 13, 2015 Author Share Posted December 13, 2015 Some of the screenshots were taken during some more cheating play, some issues (such as the island with no flint or 2 sticks) the game has at present in some ways prevent really indepth testing since under the duress of the survival system I've had an average of 3-5 islands visited before I start having to panic and backtrack for basic supplies like grass, sticks, and even flint which I've never before in Don't Starve ever ran out of as badly as in SW.
