Fidooop Posted November 7, 2015 Share Posted November 7, 2015 ok so I took a little time thinking a bit about it... What if griefers got "grief" marks? You see... if you add a vote kick and give reasons: Lag, Greifing, Language, etc.if someone is successfully kicked for griefing they get a grief mark that basically punishes them for a week and would automatically ban them from any server that would rather not have griefers play on them up until that grief mark leaves! Leaving them to only play with other grievers on servers that don't care! and you could even add a counter that will count a person's "times kicked for griefing" and if someone has a super high "kicked for griefing" count people on the server will be able to decide whether they want that person on their server longer than the 10 seconds it takes to destroy a base! Now... let's say you've been having fun with about 8 other people... you got a nice GOOD base going by day 10 and were nearly prepped to survive all 4 seasons and probably (unlikely but still possible) able to take on a deerclops because of the fun cooperation that was going on and how quickly you had prepped stuff up... then all of a sudden someone comes along and decides to burn a log next to your farms destroying EVERYTHING then continued to purposely hammer everything down and burn everything that was left and steal anything that survived the inferno! What I think to counter this is not some cheap rule that says you can't burn things near other structures because what if you need to for legit gameplay and hard survival? you may need to make those risks and burn a drying rack to get the dried meat before you die of starvation for example.... my idea is that as soon as someone is kicked for griefing it gives the players of the server the choice to move back 1-2 days returning them back to before the grief ever happened! Some sadistic arse could set up a server and immediately kick anybody that comes in. Resulting in said victim being unable to join any other server.It would create more problems rather than solve them.
