  1. I feel like you're trying to suggest that I'm bad at the game and need the catapults to survive. That in fact is not the case at all, I do not rely on catapults. And by the way, the fact that Wicker also can be used as a swap character does not make this any better. I am trying to point out in the plainest speech possible that character swapping is a very bad thing. Just go back and read Mulk's last post. It touches on every bit of what I've been trying to get at. It turns characters into tools, it reinforces bad metas, it makes the game way too easy. I want characters to be unique to themselves not just tools for the "better" characters to use. That's just dumb.
  2. But if gemerators were only fuelable by Winona suddenly all her structures become parts of her survival perks just the same way as spiders are a Webber perk or Bernie is a Willow perk. In my honest opinion a character should not introduce things that any character can use. It's like if you spawned in as Webber and then changed to Wilson and was able to still befriend spiders as Wilson.

The whole reason Klei's doing character revamps is to balance the characters all out and diversify what people play and give them more options rather than have every single server be filled with Wicker, Wigfrid, and Wolfgang. Character swapping completely tears apart that idea and people will just use a character for things they make and then swap back to the most powerful character. It's not fixing how unfun it is to play on pubs, it's just sort of reinforcing it instead.
  4. The point trying to be made here is to avoid swapping to Winona just for a single use and then back to "your character". The point is making it so that people use a character for the character and not the character's items. It's not cool if a character's just used to spawn stuff and then gets swapped out right away, there's then no point in the character anymore. lol
  5. See, the issue here is that the structures took resources to make. And also might mess with placement. (imagine setting up your crockpots and fridges just right and then suddenly your crockpots self-destructed) I think a better solution would be to have them deactivate outright. Only problem with that though is that they'd deactivate if she left to caves. Which is why I believe they should just degrade overtime and require a Winona regularly fixing them up.
  6. Just force character specific items to be character specific at their core in some way or another.... Winona buildings requiring Winona to do routine maintenance for her structures to stay at optimal functionality. Bernie could require a Willow to link to the same exact way Abigail links to Wendy making him leave the server with Willow whenever she leaves. This end result would make "swap" characters nonexistent because you wouldn't be able to keep their items after switching to a different character.

This is indeed a forums game and this is where we help ships become a reality! The contenders have to make it through a select set of obstacles chosen by the audience! (it's also a roleplaying thread... get used to it or git gud.) What do you as the audience have to do? Quickly make up an obstacle and our contenders will try to make it through to prove their love! FIRST OBSTACLE: DARKNESS In this obstacle the competitors get blind folded and have to find each other without making a sound so they know where they are at! "BUT FID, WHAT IF THEY DON'T WANNA PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY?!" You ask?? Well, we've kidnapped them and are forcing them to play! If they don't then they get dumped in hot lava and die! (get it? dumped? huh??) The prizes consist of being married, 2 free cars, and a vacation honeymoon to Icland! (Yes, they are married no matter what happens even if they lose! So they might as well go along with it.) in all seriousness this is just a silly little game and is not really a wedding in any way, shape, or form at all.... JUST PLAY ALONG OR I'LL HAVE YOU ALL THROWN DOWN THE GIVEUP HOLE please don't kill me...
  8. Several questions! Minotaur and uncorrupted? Are these new collections or different names for existing collections? (Like how Maxwell's triumphant is "untriumphant") Will Winona stuff stay for sale and be weavable forever? Same goes for Wortox stuff. And if we weave Wortox will we get a discount on buying a Wortox chest if we wanted to spend money on it? Since we'd be paying for the skins only because we already have the character. Will Wortox be treated on the same level as skins are? IE completely compiled behind DYN files and unusable in offline mode?
  9. Unnatural Selection is a community-made mod with enough content to be comparable to a DLC. It plans to add all kinds of new mobs, items, characters, biomes and events. After a very long time working on it, I'm happy to announce a brand new mod API that allows one to create their very own skins for their modded characters and items! Klei strongly forbids the use of modders creating skins for any official character/item. If any mod is found using code from this mod in order to skin official characters/items it will be reported on sight. We've been given a gift so let's not squander it! How do I use it? The tutorial is up above! It has all the usable functions inside and how to use them! Please don't rip the code and put it in your mod through... Make sure that when you upload your mod you add this mod as a required item. (It is set up this way so that the same code doesn't run multiple times if someone has multiple mods that have skins!) What is an API? An API (Application Programming Interface) is a set of functions which allows you to use advanced techniques without having to write your own code or copy/paste the code in your mod... In order to use this API you must add this mod as a requirement on your mods workshop page. Can I make clothing? No, that is off limits. We don't want to force Klei's hand and have Modded Skins shut down. What if I made a rip-off character of one of the official characters and skinned that? Still off limits because it is still Klei's character. (even after you change one letter in the name) So this is also prohibited and must be reported if anyone is found doing this! Can this be used to give myself official skins? At the moment I'm more than certain that this is impossible... However, if a way is found to do this using my mod then it's more a fault of Klei's (for leaving a hole in skin restrictions) and not mine because all I did was some UI hacking. He's going to try his best to stay on top of what mods get skins and he'll be updating his thread whenever he possibly can! Is mayonnaise an instrument? I'm... not entirely sure? I guess you could make a song using only sounds made by a tub of mayonnaise... But then again you could technically do that with almost everything! So I propose a counter-question. Does that mean that everything is an instrument?

    I guess I'll be missing out on 1-2 nights worth of sleep just to grab up those achievements... @__@ More lost sleep dedicated to the Forge! LET'S GO! Any way we can get word of what these accomplishments are ahead of time so we can practice and construct proper comps around them? o_o

    I will at some point be obtaining the gladiator portrait and will update the portraits on this thread. As to how? Not sure if I'm supposed to keep it a secret or not so I'll just keep it a secret. Also, I'll soon be updating Modded Skins and Mods in Menu to work with the new Forge UI!

    Updated the tutorial to make it a liiiiittle easier to read and included some of the new functionality added in recent updates. Namely, the ability to set a base item's atlas when adding a new modded skin and the ability to set a function when replacing items for a modded skin starting inventory.
