I´ve been meaning to kill the Dragonfly. Now I really don´t want to build walls around the lava pits, cause that just sounds like the opposite of fun. Also in my world gears are pretty much extinct,so the Ice Flingomatic method is out of the question.

 

So here is my plan. I have been killing Spider Queens in my world and I now have around 12 Spider Eggs for disposal. If I were to plant these in the Dragon Fly´s layer, would that work to distract the Larvae while I take him out?

 

Also, anyone know if Spiders eat Dragonfly eggs? Cause that´s important.

I don't think dragonfly eggs count as a food, so no. And as for gears, just farm tumbleweeds.

Spider eggs and dens are flammable, so I'd guess... no.
