xuyiduo
First of all,I would like to claim that I can understand most of the text in DS pocket edition though my English is just so so,but not everyone who might become the potential player can understand the text.Indeed,if someone can visit the comments part of DS in Chinese Appstore,he or she might find almost 80 percent of players have difficulty in understanding the text in DS,then half of these players have to uninstall the game in pity. There's no need to discuss whether people should learn a language or spend time consulting the dictionary for the text if they truely love this game. Most players choose this game just for relaxation in there free time,so they would leave the game with no hesitation. We have no right to criticize others for not learning English for a game. The fact is just that half of the players(including many of my friends)have uninstalled the game for NO OTHER LANGUAGES,though they are quite interested in it.Gameloft has a smart marketing pattern so that they offered many kinds of foreign languages when introducing new products into foreign markets. In face of economic globalization, SINGLE LANGUAGE means worse universality and relatively narrow market. In conclusion,as a common player, I love DS and I hope it could become better.Adding new language supports will undoubtedly help DS attract more players, which is just what I'd love to see. Mobbstar
I agree with everything you said about language. However, I do not agree with Most players choose this game just for relaxation in there free time,so they would leave the game with no hesitation. DS isn't really relaxing... KidneyBeanBoy
I'm pretty sure Klei has no plans to make any official translations for any of their game, since it tends to bog down production with having to make new characters for the DS font, algorhythmns for different word structures, and hiring people who speak both languages to make the translations. Which would, taking into account how busy they are with DST/Capy/Shipwrecked in general, probably be a long way off. I'm not exactly saying I'm against it, (from my little experience with the language barrier I know it can be frustrating as heck,) but I am saying if it does happen you'll have to wait quite a while for it. Pepesito1
Mods... nope. I normally speak Spanish, and the mods for translating the game is HORRIBLE. Come on!. The gold nugget inspection with Wilson is: "I can't eat it, but it sure is shiny" It should translate like:"No puedo comerlo, pero seguro es brillante" It translates like: "No puedo comerlo, pero brillante seguro" that translates like: "I can't eat it, but shiny sure"
