Let's all agree, flowers are amaizing. They restore your sanity, makes for easy ash/rot, spawns butterflies and makes honey. You can even make a fancy hat with a bunch of them.

Yes, flowers are amaizing, and they regenare each spring, so is not that necessary to take care of them.

But when you are in a wilderness server with +1000 days; you have plenty of other ways to take care of your sanity, and you start to forget about the flowers eventually.

That is, until you can't even walk a 3 steps without encountering a well behave family of these little gremlins and your swamp is filled with butterflies. And when half of the people have to leave the server, to leave those with the better computer the duty of fixing the world spending the next 10 days picking flowers to improve the lag you know flowers are not that awesome anymore...

TL;DR; Fix the flowers spawn rate please.

to improve the lag

Why would you do such a thing?

Yes, this kinda bothers me too...  I wish (think) that some biomes shouldn't spawn flowers... like the swamp... well, maybe evil flowers could bloom here but... I also, in late-game, like to roam around the map, collecting rot and cleaning up uprooted stuff from the meteor fields, and picking up litter (includes loose flowers). It gives you something to do... but then again:

So... yay? nay? Idk, bye!

It seems to me like they need to put a hard cap on how many of each resource can be spawned at a time. Adjust it up or down for increased or decreased world size on first gen, but maintain that hard cap. Pretty sure the Renewable World mod already uses something like this for creature regen rates. I've personally run into problems with spiders completely taking over entire biomes to the point where in was a virtually insurmountable task to clear them out due to the sheer number of tier 3 nests/queens running around. And this wasn't even with the Queen's Gathering set piece, this was just a standard forest that got out of control. Finally had to take a scorched earth policy to keep them from intruding into other biomes.

By far I havent seen flowers spawning on manmade turfs, as well as desert and rocky turfs too.

I have a desert base and during spring, flowers do pop up. What's more homeless bees don't care where they want to plant flowers and I've seen them plant on marble and carpet floors :)

Well, the issue was not where they spawn, but the flower infestation and the FPS drop of half the server as a consecuence.

Why would you do such a thing?

Because the more lag in a PvP server, the more advantages the people with the better computer has. Plz dun't mock mah englizh zkills m8, it hurts mah hubris.

I wasn't mocking, I was just genuinely curious... but now that I read it again, it does have a certain... tone to it. Sorry for that... I guess?

Flowers do not spawn on Desert Turf, at least from rain (I am not certain of Bees). You can place flowers manually. They will spawn on Barren Turf (which can be found in Deserts) as well as Savannah Turf. Incidentally, Eyeplants also cannot spawn on Desert Turf... but strangely enough Lureplants can; making them the ultimate Leafy Meat farming turf.

I am well aware of these O__O

Yes, barren turfs can spawn flowers and from there, they multiply into the surrounding area.

I can personally attest that homeless bees will plant flowers in man-made turfs if no alternative is found.
