As some of you may know I'm currently busy with the Markiplier and Friends mod, JackSepticEye mod, and Corrupt Memories mod! but I had this BRILLIANT IDEA! I'm just too busy to make it on my own...

 

Moon rocks are in DST yes? you know what other game has moonrocks? PORTAL 2! portals work on moonrocks so here's my mod idea... the ability to create portalable surfaces out of moonrock and a portal gun that can be used to teleport between whichever 2 spots on the island you'd like! you just have to build the surfaces in each place and visit each place with the portal gun...

 

Now some of you would be like "NOW THAT'S OP FID!" well don't you remember Cave Johnson? he died because of ground up moonrock! It made him deathly ill... so we should make it so that everytime the portals are used it damages you a little bit and has a chance to cause temporary health drain! in some cases it'll be better then losing sanity from a wormhole amirite?

Wouldn't it be cooler to have it work like in the game, so it creates portalentities, and if u touch one, it teleports u to the other one?

would probably also be easier to code.

to balance it, have it built out of moonrock and a lot of other expensive stuff and fueled by something expensive but regeneratedable too and then have the exit-portal, that u teleport to, vanish each time.

(-> onto my list of possible future projects, if noone else has done it till then)

but in portal 2 the portals don't work on grass do they?

if u are that finicky about the ground, well, then it should work everywhere in rockbiomes, chessbiomes, maybe deserts, all artificial hard-material groundtiles and nowhere else, which would be boring :razz:

imo, the gun should be an active fastpaced item, not something to create boring static wormholes, that's why i would have it able to be used everywhere, and have the exitportal disappear.

maybe even have the portals disappear after a certain range and/or time, so it really becomes a shortranged, fastpaced, micromanagementitem, like in the actual game.

use it to quickly gap rivers, micromanage around enemies in fights, steal stuff from dangerous setpieces and port right out, stuff like that^^
