Playing around with Playable Mactusk, I found that the walruses have new animations in which they appear to punch something. I did a bit of research, and it does seem MackTusk and Wee Mactusk resort to fists when cornered now. Wee will continue to melee you even after you try to run away, but Mactusk will always look for an opprotunity to run away to use his blowdart.
