So... I was eating some cookies... then drank some mango juice... and it got me thinking... "CANDLES"

OK... so...

 

Candle

"A small bulwark for wandering spirits"

 

Recipe:

  • Honey Comb X1 or Phlegm X3 or Honey X3
  • Rope X1
  • Nightmare Fuel X4

(recipes are tentative...)

  • Lasts for 3 days straight when lit.
  • Grants a light radius similar to Willow's lighter.
  • Attracts ghosts and other mobs.

Possible Uses:

  • Can lure enemies with its light to traps.
  • Have ghosts wander around it and let them kill things that get near the candle (could be used to clear out spider dens, Wasp Hives, or even protect chests... the problem is how to get the ghosts... probably turn into a ghost yourself and haunt graves... then make ghosts that come near the candle stay longer... of course until they get killed...)

EDIT: It could be placed and picked up like a lantern... or we could just make the Night Light do the above mentioned stuff...

Attracts? Why not make them repel ghosts instead?

Also, during rituals involving ghosts and stuff usually... involve... candles so it kinda says that they are attracted to them...

 

Although ghosts blow candles out...

All attracted monsters going to protect a candle (attack everyone near it, including carrier, but don't chase).

Ah, and also attraction cap. About 5 per candle?

Cons:

 

Can sometime also summon evil spirits (read: hallucinations)

 

"hallucinations"

 

Just to be clear do you mean like the ones in the ruins or the ones that appear when your sanity is very low?

...just asking because they're different... aren't they? O__O
