So the question is, Will RoG content for DST will be free for all? WIll it be a new DLC for DST? or will it be free for DST RoG owners? Rayalan Posted February 9, 2015 Share Posted February 9, 2015 That'll be quite hard, for those that don't have RoG content bought, as other people who don't have RoG, could get in a sticky situation for us. However, in some games for example, they would have the RoG content already installed on the game, and make it so it isn't accessible for people who haven't bought it, in some kind of special way... Or make those server inaccessible for those who don't have RoG. Simple and cheap for developers of DST to use the second option, but option 1 would be much more preferable. However, It may as well be free for owners of RoG for the original DS, as they would do the same thing when they released DST for free for those that had the original DS, which is pretty much the same concept. We're not quite sure yet, because of the lack of information Klei has given us about RoG, that is coming soon. You won't have Vanilla DST, so if you own DST, you don't need RoG at all, unless you want to play RoG single player. Devs were planning on letting the RoG owners to have the RoG characters in DST as an extra, which would be the only difference, but there's already a mod of those two characters, so, it's a shame. I know devs wanted to let people play with each other even if someone made a RoG world and someone wanted to join but didn't have RoG, but that doesn't mean that non-RoG owners should be able to MAKE RoG worlds. It would benefit devs more, but if they give stuff for free like this and are a stable company, then I'm not complaining. Plus, the company is tight on resources, as I heard of. So they might not add RoG for free if those that haven't bought it for the original DS. It would be good for us, but not for Klei, if I'm correct. I believe Seth has even mention this in past DS:T live streams on Twitch, but that a little bit harder to nail down.
